In his resolve to hunt down and kill the Osama bin Laden terrorists he says committed the Sept. 11 massacres, President Bush has behind him a nation more unified than it has been since Pearl Harbor. But now Bush has been put on notice that this war cannot end with the head of bin Laden and the overthrow of the Taliban.

Can you not tell the difference, Leroy S. Mort, between a religion that condemns suicide killers to hell, and a religion that rewards suicide killers with paradise?

Certain Christians burned heretics at the stake as I recall. Every "religion" has its lunatic fringe. But only a fanatic would be so consumed with his righteousness to fail to understand this.

LOL. Ted Turner and all the hacks at Time Warner make Larry Flynt look like the Pope.

Pat has it wrong - the war won't metastize from Algeria to
Afghanistan, it will metastize into a war from Morocco to
Manila...
I think the way Bush/Powell/Rumsfield have walked the tightrope
so far is just about right. It seems the policy is to nail one terrorist
*real* good, then let the others 'see the light of redemptemption and
sin no more...'

Buchanan looks at this as some kind of internicene chess game between "neos" and "paleos".

He naively thinks that as long as we get bin Laden, the other radical Islamists will just go away.

Pat also thought the Gulf War was a U.S. defense of Israel.

I don't know whether the Neo-cons or Pat are more ignorant about this. Maybe its a tie.

Can somebody please explain to me why the White House would announce that it was trying to overthrow the Taliban, go after Iraq, Syria, Sudan, etc? Even if it was planning on doing so? Those conservatives who are blasting Bush for allegedly following Powell's advice and being too soft are exposing their own bone-headedness.

If Bush were to announce his intention to overthrow the Taliban, then go after Iraq, Syria, etc., what effect would such an announcement have on those Arab countries that are cooperating with us, either openly or behind the scenes? It would open rifts for no purpose. It's likely that the Administration has every intention of knocking the Taliban out of power. But why they would announce that intention ahead of time is a complete mystery to me. Help knock the Taliban out of power, disavow any responsibility, and you've accomplished your goal without creating more martyrs or inflaming the population in moderate Arab states.

Same with bin Laden. My guess is if/when we do kill him, we won't make any announcement to that effect, and simply say we're not sure where he is. That makes it much more difficult for radicals to whip up more anti-U.S. hatred in moderate Arab-states. But, the radicals will know that we mean business because they will know we killed him. That's the way to bring terror to the terrorists. A swift, unannounced and uncelebrated death in the night.

Pat is absolutely correct here. Dumb Americans will go along with the hair brained Neo Cons and we will occupy Iraq and incur many deaths and retribution.

Once Iraq is taken over for resisting the New World Order then the UN will be moved to Baghdad as consolation and consolidation of the One World Government. Iraq has tremendous historical significance to the One Worlders. This is where the first One Worlders in Babel began. The first great Empire, the Babylonians, had it's start here as well as the Patriarch of the three great religions in Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Alexander the Great made Babylon his capital and the Bible predicts Babylon will be a major player in the world scene. Don't forget that Iraq has the largest known oil reserves in the world.

The list above is incomplete with only 37 names. Four are missing.
Anyone knows who's missing?

The article with the signatories demands that over time, done is what must be done to stamp out terrorism. If some of the perps blink, and smell the roses, the agenda can be cut back. I don't think those "neocons" are suggesting any more, or less. And to that extent, I endorse, and would sign, their letter.

List of signatures in post 48 is perfect indeed.
According to the source there were 37 signatories involved not 41.
Interesting characters too. Sleeper-agents waiting the harvest time I presume.

None of this changes the fact that Pat will be working as a janitor in a Porno theatre in three years.

You're retiring then, are you?

Agreed. But our heros manning the Neocon Armchair General Staff don't want to limit WWIII to the thousands of technicals whom we can identify. They want to see if we can't rouse all the world's indifferent Moslems from their slumbers, and turn all 1 billion of them into a united and bitter enemy of the United States. How could we fail to see the wisdom of that? "Let's drop the Big One, and see what happens..."
