Just wanted to share with y'all some good news, some news of life amidst all the terrible things of the last couple of weeks.
The Lovely Wife [aka FReeper "RightOnlinesWife"] gave birth to our seventh child at about 10:00 Thursday evening, the 27th. It's a bouncing, PERFECTLY healthy baby boy (named Jared Scott [insert ROL's last name here]). He was 9 pounds, 6 ounces (believe it or not, making him one of our SMALLER babies at birth!), and a full 22" long.
I won't bore you with the usual details Dad's run on about..................suffice it to say this went from what looked to be our seventh smooth-as-silk, no-shots, no-drugs, etc., normal-normal childbirth....and in the blink of an eye turned into an emergency C-section. RightOnlinesWife's first C-section.
Praise God, the end result is what matters. Mother and baby are both healthy, VERY well, and gorgeous.
Thanks for putting up with this vanity, but had to share with my FReeper friends. God bless...........and I'll set aside cigars for all who ask. :)
Now THAT'S funny.............'specially considering that Mom insisted I go get her a sandwich for post-delivery because she was HUNGRY! Well, I stopped at a nearby.........you guessed it.........Subway.
'Course, she can't eat it; liquids only for a bit.
But no, "Jared" was either Noah's grandfather or great-grandfather (I'm too tired to remember) and the name means.......shoot, what does it mean? "King" or "leader of men" or something similar. Cool name. The "Scott" comes from my younger brother. We had named previous sons (middle names, usually) after The Lovely Wife's grandfather, father, brother, my older brother, etc. Had to get my younger brother Scott's name in there or I'd be banned from Thanksgiving get togethers or something. :)
No, I think Mom's gonna have a LOT of help.......
Thanks for the prayers.........always, ALWAYS welcome.
All I have to say to her is OUCH!!!!!
You'd better take good care of that lady ROL.
Oh and by the way GREAT choice of names...Jared, my youngest son's name.
You have all of your own built in babysitters too right? Lucky you.
MKM
Seven - I think it's great!!!
A good friend of mine is expecting her 10th, she's 48 - and her children range in age from 24 - 6 - and then the baby due in February. So far - 7 girls and 2 boys. They think it's a boy this time.
We have 3 sons - 18, 14, and 9 - and we'd LOVE another one!!
Anyway - again CONGRATULATIONS!!
Health and happiness.
As the youngest of seven, I can affirm that the best is indeed saved for last, assuming that you are through bringing forth new life.
Prayers and good wishes for Mom and the little one...
Regards,
I.T.
I'll add my thanks to hers. FReepers are the best, and for those critics who may call FR a haven for the "heartless", all I can say is that they haven't a CLUE what they're talking about.
BTW........the little critter is doing just great. Mom's recovering so fast they're talking about sending her home on Sunday. :)
I also pray the Lord grants you and her some sleep over the next few months!
We had a nine-pound, 12 ouncer ourselves some years ago. It's quite a work-out! Beefed up my arms & pects just carryin' him around.
