14th Amendment's "Full Faith and Credit" clause. There is serious talk of arming pilots.

...which raises a good point that nobody has discussed: If a pilot is armed, the pilot will personally need a state handgun permit for every state he lands in. The feds can't just make armed pilots legal by fiat, and the airlines can't do the paperwork (fingerprints, signatures, etc.) for him. The only way the "arm the pilots" theory will work is if each state recognizes, in full faith and credit, the CCW permits of every other state...and in turn, the equal protection clause will carry that recognition over to every non-pilot. There's a golden opportunity here, folks!

No, I don't think so. The Feds simply deputize them as some sort of Junior Air Marshal and voila - they can carry just like their local Dept. of Weights and Measures drone. You KNEW Weights and Measures was allowed to carry on aircraft, because they're so damned critical to a Free America, didn't you?

Don't hold your breath until that happens. Bush has joined Gephart and Daschele in being against allowing armed pilots. My son is an airline pilot, and we know quite a few other pilots. Every one we know is in favor of arming pilots, and ALPA(pilots union) has come out in favor. But with Bush and the Dem leaders against it it will never make it to reality. I'm very disappointed with Bush on this one.

Heard a news report last evening that said firearm sales in "California" ?!?!?!? are up 42-46% (+/- a few points) alone.

My local gunslinger is selling faster than they can restock here in Texas.....Just what I hear and see of course . I think most folks are starting to see the common sense behind the proper use and purpose of this little "tool" commonly refered to as "gun".

Sorry, don't think so. Anytime you step foot into ANY airport and be extension onto any AIRCRAFT you are on federal property. They'll make pilots sky-marshals or just issue the weapon to the PLANE instead of the pilot. However, my original idea stands of having federal reciprocity for state issued CCW's. Just as DRIVERS LICENSES are recognized state to state so too, should concealed firearms permits be recognized. Exact same justification!

Many of the antis are definitely quaking in their birkenstocks, desperately trying to acquire firearms. A few days ago Charleton Heston said some of his celebrity acquaintences -- known antis -- approached him begging him to lend (or give?) them guns, they were in terror after the attacks on the 11th.

His reply was "No."

Now, I'm sure he got a great deal of pleasure from watching them being reduced to such a state, but personally, I think he should have said something like, "No, I won't break the law -- ridiculous as it is -- that prohibits me from tranfering a firearm to you (which I presume to be the case in CA), but I will take you to the gunshop, and help you make a wise purchase, under one condition: you must immediately become an NRA member, and agree to sign up for an NRA-certified self-defense course."

He could have done a lot of good had he taken that tack with them.

For any one common citizen off the street I'd agree with ya 100%......Help em , educate em and pat em on the back for being responsible for the safety of them and theirs in situations where a firearm could make a difference.

But as far as helping these socialist poster boys and girl's that sought to deprive me of the means to protect me and mine......SCREW EM !

They did'nt care about the elderly or poor having the means to protect themselves . Based on their "known" efforts to support gun control they (IMHO) need to wallow in their own crap they created for a while and understand what the term "helpless" means.
