Oops. Apologies. I need to take note of the number being replied to before I snarl. Mea culpa.

I'm a little torn about Ann's suggestion. How will I be able to get a microwave green-chile, potato burrito and a rootbeer-flavored Slurpee at 3AM if we go through with this?
To: bootyist-monk
I have it on good authority that as Ann's column is ever more widely promulgated and the news of the lowered intellectual and educational requirements for corner-store clerks spreads -- and even as we speak -- hoards of opportunistic-Canadian illegals -- even at risk of pissing off the Mexican illegals -- are pouring over our Northern borders to take up the slack!

Well, let's see ... the current wave of terror is instituted by persons in America on visas, we have thousands here on visas of Muslim and/or Middle Eastern, Irani, Indonesian, and Algerian extract, we need to reduce the odds of more terrorist attacks by such people, we can revoke the visas and send these visitors back out of the country, thereby reducing the field from which we must cull ... yeah, I'd say Ann has it about right, and those sent out can return when the terrorists no longer have safe harbor in the countries from which the visas are cited, and we will be more meticulous in our allowances. Looks good to me; let's roll!

Revoke all the visas and send them home.
To: Tax Government
Amen! We can sort it out later, when there is less threat.

I'm sure they have also thought of all the private jets that are around the country. Are they being subjected to review and careful security controls? I doubt it. Hundreds of them exist and are potential flying bombs. There are two such planes that fly charters from our small, unprotected airport. Overpowering their owners and pilots would be very simple. Makes me shudder!

Bump, too!

I remember public service announcements on TV back in the 60s that reminded legal aliens they had to report in (I think at a local post office where they lived) to account for themselves. I think that was required every 6 months. Yes, my mother's mentioned this to me. Often. She went to the local post office once with a Egyptian friend here on a diplomatic passport.

Wow. Ann's gone off the deep end two weeks in a row. This has to be a parody, right? Right?

Those here on visa...those *WORKING* in the US. Those in tech industries. How do you propose to sell this to the corporations who are depending upon the people you propose to eject for an indeterminate length of time? It's like closing the barn door after the horse has run away. The time to filter them out is when they want to COME IN. Who's going to 'round them up'--boy what a political nightmare that would be and how big a victory for terror! In America of all places. I can just hear the refrain, "Next they'll come for the Jews."
She's gone off the deep end. A sad, sad day. She lost a lot of credibility with me.
To: Brian Allen
Let's start a pool. How many more Americans in how many more attacks of what nature will needs exspire before Ann's words are heeded?
I'll go first. I say ... 30,000 ... in one attack ... with a suitcase nuke.

She could have added one more thing: Revoke all laws limiting the right to carry--concealed or not--firearms. The government CANNOT AND WILL NOT protect us. The least they can do is let us protect ourselves.

You need to rethink this, Albert ...
Those here on visa...those *WORKING* in the US. Those in tech industries. How do you propose to sell this to the corporations who are depending upon the people you propose to eject for an indeterminate length of time? It is the damn greed of the airlines corporations and the democrat party that caused them to ignore all the warnings and blatant needs for increased safety measures which led to our being vulnerable to the 9/11 atrocities! The corporations don't or shouldn't come before the lives of the citizens. When you figure this out, perhaps you will see the deep wisdom of what Anne recommended.
