You're not going to change their minds. They're wrong. Agree to disagree. Life's to short trying to convert the unconvertable.

No problem. Offer him a ticket to Sudan. If his views are protected and he survives he can come back in one year. If he doesn't survive oh well. Another pacifist learns that you can't just read the hilighted portions of the bible, you have to read the whole thing. And since his opinion is irrelevant to 90% of the American public at this time, remind him that it was others, like our fathers, friends, etc., who gave their lives to protect his flakey point of view.

Don't bother replying to this person. If he/she/it can't get incensed about the slaughter of over 6,000 U.S. citizens, then someone better will have to carry he/she/its load thru these trying times.

Have him read Michael Kelly's latest column (on pacifism).
One quote: "...in the situation where one's nation has been attacked -- a situation such as we are now in -- pacifism is, inescapably and profoundly, immoral. Indeed, in the case of this specific situation, pacifism is on the side of the murderers, and it is on the side of letting them murder again."

"Sell your cloak and buy a sword" A$$HOLE!!!!

Since most liberals (even those who claim to be Christian) haven't read the bible that they reject in whole or in part, reading it might be a good place for them to start.

Romans 13...check verse 4 especially:
For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment to the wrongdoer.
God's little sidenote on government. Try that one on him. If he doesn't listen, try a boot to the head.

Oh yes He (Jesus) would!! Jesus may not have had warfare on his mind on his first visit, but he sure will on his next!
Jesus was NOT a pacifist, and he doesn't demand that of His followers. Dont forget....turning the other cheek, means not responding to a public insult! It has NOTHING to do with a physical assault, not to mention standing by piously as others are killed!
One of the FEW responsibilities of ANY Federal government is the protection of its citizens from foreign and domestic threats. It is perfectly proper to find an punish aggressors wherever they are hiding.
Would your pious friend stand by while his neighbor was raped? Murdered? Mugged? If he would, tell him to get a spine implant and ignore any other opinions he offers.
As for Saudi Arabia, WE ARE NOT THEIR PARENTS, and we owe them nothing but reciprocal respect. What they do in their own country is the responsibility of the citizens of Saudi to correct if they need correction.
We support Israel against any and all foes because its the right thing to do. Israel is the ONLY democracy in the ENTIRE MID-EAST? The Palestinians real home country is JORDAN!!! These people are being used as pawns to play out the Arabs hatred of the Jews.
Speaking of responding to physical attacks, does your pal really think little Israel is a bully to 1 BILLION Arabs? Could they exist if they only responded to attacks with Kumbaya sessions? Your friend is exactly 180 degrees WRONG!!

I agree with Danzaroni (and others on this thread) that it's not in your best interest to engage them in discussion. It will most likely be fruitless. Instead, try to dig up one of those old World War II posters of Jesus as a fighter pilot. It won't convince them of anything, but it will bug the heck out of them.

Liberal Christian?? Huuuum???
To: Doctor Freeze
Recently, I had to listen to a Christian liberal give his views on U.S. retaliation. As a Christian, I think he is full of garbage. A liberal Christian is an oxymoron. It is not possible. Either he does not know God, and is a psuedo Christian, or he does not know the issues. Ask him if he is a pacifist in the spiritual warfare we fight daily. Remind him that some of the bloodiest wars were fought by the children of Israel, at the direction of God, where God ordered the complete destruction of all men, women, children and livestock of their enemies. God is not a pacifist. We may not initiate violence, but when violence comes our way (New York and Washington) we go after the hun, to get rid of evil, and restore order.

Tell him that until he has converted everyone else to his views he best stay armed, unless he desires to meet God early.

What do you think Jesus would say or do? In opposition to the teachings of Jesus, Christians have engaged in torture and murder that exceed that probably of the followers of all other religions. I don't know why Christians are so much more aggresively brutal in the name of religion than are Buddhists, Shintos, and Hindus, but the historical record is there. Let's face it, Americans (our Govt) have been torturing and killing Arabs/Moslems by the hundreds of 1000s. Madeleine Albright said the price was worth it for 500,000 young Iraqi children to die (AFTER the end of the Gulf War) because of imposed sanctions and bombing of infrastructure during and after the war. She said, "We think the price was worth it." Moslems have heard that justification for the killing of 500,000 children every week for 5 years (she said it on 60 Minutes in 1996). Actually, the toll is probably over one million young children by now. Let's see, 7000 New Yorkers killed x 80 = 560,000. How come we Americans have not heard every week for 5 years of our govt's justification of killing half a million children?

Tell them that if the Christians had felt that way during World War II then they would not be able to express their idiotic thoughts today.
To: Doctor Freeze
What about people who claim to be Christian yet believe in the right to choose. I don't get it. I also don't get a "Christian" voting for Gore or Clinton and I have two relatives who fit that category. You can't argue with a stump. Well, you can but you'll not get an intelligent response.
To: Doctor Freeze
The logical end to Christian pacifism is the obliteration of Chrisianity. I don't like picking fights, either, but I wouldn't sit still with a bowl of potato(e) chips while an intruder shoots me wife and rapes my dog!
