Student Senator Who Sponsored Pro-Flag Resolution May Be Impeached!
NCRepublicans.com ^ | September 26, 2001

Posted on 09/26/2001 11:00:00 AM PDT by flwilliams

The September 19, 2001 edition of the NCRepublicans.com newsletter contained a story about a pro-flag resolution that was defeated by the Arizona State University student senate. The resolution was introduced because Sodexho Marriott, a vendor contracted by the university, removed American Flags posted by students in the campus' Sahuaro Hall Market. In response, Student Senator Oubai Shahbandar (who happens to be of Syrian descent) introduced Senate Bill 29, entitled: "A Resolution in Support of ASU Students' God Given Right for the Open Display of Patriotism and Love of Country." On September 18th, the Associated Students of Arizona State University voted 9-12 to reject the resolution (9 for, 6 against 6 abstaining).

Now, the real kicker: NCRepublicans has received a copy of an emergency meeting notice which stated the following: "Due to pressure from various students and faculty in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, I am hereby calling an emergency meeting of the CLASCC executive committee to discuss and vote on the impeachment of Oubai Shahbandar from his seat on the ASASU Senate.

Complete details, including the text of the defeated pro-flag resolution, a list of the student senators who voted for and against the resolution, and more are available at http://www.ncrepublicans.com.

Free speech for me, but not for you, because you don't agree with me. Liberal mantra. Heard it in the 60's and once again it rears its ugly, ugly, ugly head.

Maybe we should bomb all the liberal schools in the U.S. in addition to Afghanistan.

This can't be true. I've read right here on Free Republic that them A-rabs all hate America and want to destroy us.

The weenies calling for this impeachment ought to have their heads shaved and be sent to fight in Afghanistan to see what defending their freedom REALLY is. And you're right, Carry. The list of charges should be high comedy.

Aren't there some sort of grants or education help for conservatives such as this young man. Isn't there a way that he can be transferred to a REAL school that will protect and nurish his right to free speech?

Liberals are such Hypocrites!!!

If the students don't see the irony in this, then college education is a fraud.

My alma mater (not ASU) awaits thousands of dollars that I would love to give it, as soon as the washed out crop of 60s lefties depart its hallowed halls. The best, and really only, weapon that we have against these stooges is to withhold money, both personally and by encouraging our politicians to be careful in their funding of higher education. It's a true, crying shame.

These rat-fascist b*st*rds never change. In the '60s, their totalitarian mindsets could not be moved.

Nor in the '70s, the '80s, or the '90s.

The Left have found their true soul-brothers in these irrational Islamic Terrorists. Eff 'em all.
