Afghan poppy fields like this one may soon be put out of business, with U.S. plans to bomb the Taliban's opium- and heroin-production plants.

September 26, 2001 -- WASHINGTON - An al Qaeda terror camp, where scientists may be working on chemical weapons, and the Taliban's heroin production facilities will be among the first targets hit when the shooting war starts, The Post has learned.

Well, the fact is that those with half or less than half a brain got past our best "full brainers" and took down the WTC , didn't they, hmmmmm ? Arrogance is a weakness which the enemy knows how to exploit.

The story does not say when we are going to strike targets, or in what order. It does say that just about anything of value to them that can be hit, could or will be hit. No great surprise.

And plans don't get revealed in sports? What was the defining part of the Oakland Raiders' game plan for years? The long pass. Everyone knew it. What is the Ravens' game plan? To win with defense, and not let the offense lose the game for them. Everyone knows it. What pitch is Randy Johnson going to feature? The fastball. Everyone knows it.

The question is, can you do anything about it?

Of course not, but you see we live in America where it is "cool" to be a traitor to your country. We also have the enemy amonst us. Also, how many of these Americans who feel the urge to reveal all information to the enemy are indeed not working with the enemy?

It would seem to me, that if you loved your country and your freedom, you would do all in your power to protect it against enemies. When that is not the case, I tend to feel that we have people here trying to take America down.

Was thinking the same thing. All they have to do is read our papers and watch the news and they get all kinds of valuable info. They announce where the president will be and when. I don't think enquiring minds need to know everything.

I hafta wonder, why, in our other war (the one on drugs) has our government not targeted these extensive poppy fields in the past??? A little odd to me that we arrest junkies but leave the source to flourish...

In a superb inconsistency, the U.S. gave to the Taliban over $400 million to support its crackdown on heroin growing and selling. That is, $400 million to an unrecognized revolutionary govt that harasses and harms its citizens. Well, maybe it's not inconsistent. We taught bin Laden how to engage in terrorism when he was our buddy. In fact we also turned against our old buddy Noriega, and we went on to bomb and kill about 4000 civilian Panamanians in our efforts to depose our man in Panama. Noriega had never been in the U.S., so we proved that we can arrest and prosecute anyone, anywhere for alleged violation of U.S. law.
