I could not agree more. The difference between then and now, I believe, is that back then people were more themselves when doing the rounds of the talk shows. You could gain real insight from what they said and how they said it.
Today, all the plastic folks are only there to push their latest projects and get face time. The "stars" of today (with very few exceptions) have nothing of substance to say, and when they do, they merely push some (usually) socialist agenda.
Entertainers have gone the way of the dinosaur.

I agree - I use to really be interested in their lives, their opinions and all of it. Some I thought were beautiful and some were my heroes.
Not anymore. I have lost all interest in them. I don't know why or when it changed but now all I see are no moral airheads who live and entertain with filth. So many of them base their appeal on pushing the envelope but it has been pushed so far, they are only leading to pornography as a career.
Such a void in my life - I use to go to the movies and at least rent one every Fri. I even quit that since too many times my stomach actually turned watching the movie. It was no longer entertainment - merely trash.
The movie industry giants have shot themselves in the foot with the drug culture ruining the talent and the liberalism/socialism they teach and preach. Lately I've noticed that many of the videos don't even make sense. They are just churned out to provide the renters more movies. Again, they made the mistake of thinking people wouldn't notice if a storyline was thrown together with big holes in it.
