[history]
What a difference 10 months make. Last November I broke the unwritten rule that requires journalists to be neutral political observers when I got embroiled in the controversy over the presidential election and publicly supported Al Gore.
It was not just with friends that I passionately argued the election had been stolen and that Mr. Gore would be the better president. I was one of the signatories to the pompously titled "Emergency Committee of Concerned Citizens 2000," which took full-page ads in the New York Times demanding a revote in Palm Beach County, Fla. I wrote op-eds for Salon.com and the New York Daily News. On television talk shows from MSNBC to Fox News's popular "The O'Reilly Factor," I made the case for Mr. Gore. In thousands of e-mails, I urged voters to deluge Clay Roberts, director of Florida's Division of Elections, with appeals for a recount.

My mother in law basically said the same thing at a gathering this weekend. She voted for Gore, thought GW was a nitwit. Now totally changed. Very impressed. Can't imagine having Gore in there at this time of crisis.

I think W's real magic is one on one or with small groups, but I would never called him STIFF with scripted speeches. I guess the people that haven't watched him as close as we have don't know him like we do! ;-) To all these people hopping on board the W bus I just want to say "DUH PEOPLE!!"

On another thread a few days ago, a FReeper suggested something along the lines of ...
I want the attack to be so massive and distructive so as to cause legends to be founded about it. Little children centuries from now will be told to be good or that the nighttime monsters (in tanks and jets) will come to punish them. I'll roll with that...

Humor me and show me the photo of bin Laden
You are either gullible or worst if you will see either a Republican or Democratic supporter of Big Government come right out and advocate such things. I won't taint your thinking and will let you start listening to Ashcroft and other in high Government positions talking about the necessity of curtailing freedoms so they can better "protect our society". Incrimination works just as effectively for Republicans as for Democrats.

In other words, when you said that quotes of Bush advocating such things were as prevalent as pictures of the WTC incident, you were full of it.

Does this mean that we dont have to hear "Bush is an idiot" anymore?I think it is entirely appropriate for us to put a new bumper sticker out: Thank me, I voted for Bush
Memo to Posner: Thank you for admitting you were wrong about George W. As soon as you realize you were wrong about the Lone Gunman Theory, you WILL let us know, right??

"quotes of Bush advocating "
I didn't quote anything. I simply have heard the various things being "floated" by those in power and the beginning of curtailment of our freedoms is what they are floating.
Putting yourself in the cage will never protect you from anything. It will simply make you easier to find because you are already controlled.

Yeah, and what you are "floating" sounds a lot more like what
are floating than anything that matches what my eyes see.
To: Hugh Akston
Ah Hugh! Too bad all you can do is rant. I guess we will just have to disagree.
You go socialism and big government and I will go Constitution.
Time will tell and believe me I hope you are right and history is wrong.

How interesting, you used the socialism vs Constitution line on me on a similar thread. Perhaps you should go over to the DemonicRat page where name calling is thought of as real debate. Remember GW dumped Kayoto, stood up for Star Wars in the face of the liberals and is housecleaning the DOJ. You give paranoia a bad name! Jesus is Lord!
Pray for GW and NY
God Bless America

Good read here. I'm sure you'll appreciate it.

What makes Bush stand out to me is that he has put his own butt on the line. He made no ifs, ands, or buts about what his agenda was going to be. Now he either accomplishs it or he goes down in flames. He is showing the kind of courage in office that we have not seen since JFK stood eye to eye with the old SU over the Cuban missile crisis. Bush has guts. Period. And while I may be a libertarian, I see the threat, and I recognize when a man unequivocally ties his future to eliminating that threat. He can now only become pitiful or great. I will certainly stand behind, with, and in front of that man, because he is a man of great courage. I have to agree with one of the previous posts that a divine power is showing through when this man now speaks to us. He is unlike the candidate Bush. He is a new man. A true leader. An inspiration. He is my President.

Isn't Posner the one with the crummy toupe who keeps saying that Condit should keep his job? He and Trafficant look like refugess from Hairclub for Men.

Isn't Posner the one with the crummy toupe who keeps saying that Condit should keep his job? No. Posner is uglier than that guy.
