"That morning I took of to practice some approaches, when I saw the smoke over the city, so I hit the throttle and went to Hudson VFR Corridor where on the 123.05 unicom every pilot was talking about a "commuter plane gone into the WTC". By the time I'm right next to WTC I see this airliner coming down in a steep bank, first I thought he was a gawker too, taking a closer look at the fire, and I thought "this guy is gonna get so fired by his airline for this!", and the rest you know is history..."

Anyone else find yourself searching the NY skyline in commercials and pre-9/11 TV shows just to see them again?

The pics illustrate that unless they (the scumbag, evil, hijacking terrorists) were blind, there was no credible way in which to miss the towers.

Yup. I saw a Limp Bizkit video for Rollin' and they were evidently on the roof of one of the towers. Video was probably about a year old or less.

All the time! ANd I hope that the producers of every piece of footage that has the twin towers included in it is left intact. I agree with Hollywood pulling the release of "Spiderman" and other such movies that would definatly would have been in bad taste, but I want to see them as they were and I want everyone to be reminded of what happened by seeing them standing.

I only had two short trips to Ney York City and they officially "dont count". My ship pulled into Governors Island and I only made it as far as the ferry terminal both times. But I did stand there and take in the whole skyline and thought that it was very beautiful. I figured that was close enough for a flatlander from Kansas.

It's eerie looking at the pictures of those two planes and imagining how the people inside were still completely unsuspecting except for about 3-4 of them in each.

Thanks for the picture links... There is no doubt that they were easy targets. I hope that if they rebuild that they stick to building smaller buildings. Personally I don't know how anyone that escaped from them could ever go into another skyscraper after this.

YES - last night watching an OLD episode of NYPD BLUE at 1:00 in the morning, I noticed they used it in the background of a shot. They also showed the skyline at night, and, how could you not notice those buildings?

Why are the wheels down on the airplanes? I don't recall the wheels being down in the tv footage.

Yes, I was watching a rerun of Friends the other night and in one scene Joey was out trying to learn how to sail, and you could see the twin towers in the background at times. Also, in other city shots during the show you can sometimes see the towers.

This is the 757 which crashed in Pennsylvania. The planes that were flown into the WTC were both 767's.
