Senate passes free trade agreement with Jordan { ARE THEY NUTS}

WASHINGTON (AP) -- In a timely gesture to a key Middle East friend, the Senate on Monday approved an agreement that effectively removes all trade barriers with Jordan.

The measure, already passed by the House, implements an agreement reached between the Clinton administration and Jordan last fall. The Bush administration strongly supports it.

How did Nafta ruin the country? Unemployment was at an all time low and inflation was nonexistent following Nafta, while wages rose in real terms (adjusted for inflation). I look, but don't see the ruination.

Jordan is populated primarily by Palestinians.

But Jordan does not want any Palestinian who isn’t a Jordanian. Part of the Iraqi, Iranian, Kuwaiti, and Syrian problem is that there are a number of disenfranchised Palestinians running around the area who do not have a home. None of these countries want them. Israel does not want them either. So maybe this deal with Jordan might be a partial solution. Just Maybe!

And they will continue on trying until we can solve the problem once and for all.
