I'm hearing that it was the training facility near Byrd stadium.

ROFL! I saw an F5 once here in KS, not much could compare to that!

That mother that touched down "near the Pentagon" blew down all of my outdoor furniture and plants.
Lots of local tranformers were putting on a very Kodochrome-blue light show as they blew - pop pop pop.
Yeah I suppose it was a tornado, but it looked more impressive on the TV news than from my place.
But nothing like that baby that kept me trapped at the I-80 underpass near Pierre, SD. That was scary!

I assume you have asked this tornado to explain itself prior to bothering you.

No, it was the Andover tornado in 1991. I'm pretty sure it was an F5, but maybe it was an F4.
Two dead in a flipped car. Evacuating some dorms (gas leak) at College Park.

SHIRLINGTON: the report I saw was outside the mall. A few of the letters had blown off and some trees were down. Also, Capital City Brewery was damaged. They said nothing of houses. I assume if there were damaged houses, the news crews would be beating each other up to report it first.

>>>Outside the Beltway, pretty common. Inside the Beltway, rare. That's because it really SUCKS inside the Beltway.Wow, look! Poohbah actually said something against the government!!!!!!!!

Don't mess with me right now, please...just went through the Pentagon mess, now this...what a month. :( I am very worried about my home, and I can't get back to Virginia before Friday. This month has been enough to make me seriously consider moving to the suburbs.

Both the Andover Tornada in '91 and the So. Wichita - Haysville Tornada in '99 have been described as F5's, but are generally accepted as F4's. Same with the Heston 'nado a couple of years before that. I am talking about a 40 mile square area that got as many as 3 F5's and a couple of F3's in a decade.

Thanks. I'll keep my fingers crossed and keep praying. Hopefully, I can get someone to go check on the house for me. Ping me if you hear anything more.
