WJR-AM in Detroit just reported that the intended target of the 4th plane that went down in Pennsylvania was the THREE MILE ISLAND nuclear facility.
Makes me all the more grateful to the heroes on the plane who thwarted this plan.

I have heard that reactors are designed to withstand a 747 impacting at full speed.

They said they have access to a report that should be released today. Stay tuned for news.

Would the nutcases really have been able to trigger a Chernobyl? A nuclear plant can't explode even in the worst case scenario. Looks like someone wanted to several thousand people to come down with radiation poisoning. What a bunch of sweethearts. Yeah for the record, if the report is true, I am just as thankful as other Americans for the heroes who brought down Flight 93 before it could reach whatever was its intended target.

Wow! This plane's intended target has been reported/theorized as:
Camp David
The White House
The Capitol
Air Force One
The Pentagon (second wave)
Three Mile Island
Boss_Jim's House
Any that I've missed?

Sounds like Barbara Streisand to me. Why the heck would a talk radio station in Detroit have access to a report from Washington. Highly suspect and it smells too.

I always thought Camp David was nonsense. My guess, the capitol or the WH but 3mile sounds reasonable. I remember the last emergency with that one, it was terrible.

Any that I've missed? The State Department!
No, wait. That was supposedly a car bomb.

Stay tuned for news. The radio host stands by his source.
BTW, WJR has gotten a number of "scoops" in the last few days, including the bust of the three men in Detroit suspected of additional terrorist actions.
To: The Energizer
It wouldn't have done much harm.
But stupidity being so prolific, there would have been a huge panic of morons.

"I have heard that reactors are designed to withstand a 747 impacting at full speed." I have read the same. Regardless, it would shut down power generation for months/years. Impact on economy?

Well, given the nutcase characteristics of these guys, I won't put anything past them.

If true, then we have already entered the age of nuclear terrorism. And GOD BLESS THE PEOPLE WHO BROUGHT THE PLANE DOWN! That was a more titanic fight than we first thought, no? A hand-to-hand fight by civilian Americans who prevented nuclear terrorism! Like I mentioned before. Exclusive medals. A monument. And a big production movie about it that gives money to the victims' families.

Good point in post 9. We need confirmation.

When you consider that Chernobyl was nothing more than stupidity at the control console . . . how well protected is the control center?
To: TKEman
Sounds like WJR has a friend in a place that might know.I wonder what else he's telling people without a right to know.
