The United States has information that the group has already acquired small airplanes to spray bacteria causing smallpox or anthrax from the air, Jiji quoted the sources as saying. One cannot prevent an ultralight aircraft from taking off since an open filed will suffice. A cannister of Sarin or a bio-agent is easily carried and sprayed from such a craft, without even being a suicide mission. It is time for the citizenry to take more of an active roel in our own alertness and defense.

. It is time for the citizenry to take more of an active roel in our own alertness and defense. I agree. Just like we all admire the overwhelming courage it took for the passengers on the plane that was downed in Pennsylvania, to rush the terrorists after having probably witnessed passengers being assaulted , not knowing if a backpack on a terrorist had a bomb as told, whatever, all of us need to become alert and watchful. I sort of wished the President had called all of us to arms.....had reminded us that every corner of our country is vulnerable to terrorist sickness and that if we were ALL vigilant, the terrorists would have a tougher time.

I believe this threat is why certain small aircraft are not being allowed to take off from any airport. At least that is true here in San Diego. We have a small airport - Montgomery Field - and they stated that some smaller aircraft were not allowed to take off. There was something about having to file a flight plan too. This has grounded most flight schools.
