Is America so arrogant, so utterly self-absorbed, so diseased by religious liberalism and philosophical subjectivism, that she thinks she can ignore all of history itself and demand from God blessings when she refuses to repent of her evils? Do we really need to be reminded that Planned Parenthood has killed more little children in our land in the week since the attacks than died in the attacks themselves? Are we so blind?

Surely the scourge of abortion would be enough to warrant the unleashing of the wrath of God, but there is so much more!

BUMP

Gumbo, while it may upset some as not being politically correct, the groups you cite are NOT Christian. In our day of politcal correctness people have stopped labeling cults cults, but that is exactly what they are.

But it is right here that the new American religiosity clamps its hands over its ears and refuses to hear. America wants God’s blessing. America wants God to protect us from more horrific visions of airliners flying purposefully, relentlessly into our national monuments. We want God to be near us as we board our aircraft. We want Him to protect us from the horror of thinking about what it was like when the towers collapsed. We want Him to guide our military and allow us to flex our muscle and launch our missiles with impunity. We want a blessing God, a caring God, who simply panders to our wants and whims. This is the “God” of the new American religiosity.

But what America does not want is a God who is holy, who is just, and who has revealed His will concerning how we, His creatures, are to live. America is a land soaked in blood. We glory in violence. We are so selfish, so bound in our avarice, fornication, and sexual lust, that we murder our own offspring in the womb (or at birth as in partial-birth infanticide). Our hands are covered in blood, and yet we think lighting a candle and lifting them up while mumbling “God Bless America” is going to bring God’s favor? Listen to the words of God to another nation that likewise was “religious” but refused to hear the word of repentance:

these two paragraphs say it all.

We would be a lot better off and probably have avoided this tragedy if we hadn't ceded so much ground to the evils of atheism, socialism, feminism, homosexuality, fornication, and pornography

And abortion.

How dare you, we don't "hate" other people for their religion. In fact we have tolerated ourselves almost out of existance.

However, we should fight the globalists efforts to lump all religion under one god, and claim that we are all worshiping the same god, we are not in anyway worshipping the same god.

The God of our religion proves himself to be God, telling us the ending from the begining. He is not some vague idea, some unformed thought, some wish of mankind, who has left us some self help, feel good about ourselves, PC, I'm ok Your OK manual. He has detailed his personality, what he expects, where we will fail, how he will save us from that failure, and what the future holds. Looking at past history reveals that the God we worship told from days of old what would happen then, and what will happen tomorrow. Our God is God.

"Those who preach hate against other religions and other denominations hardly have any reason to question someone's sanity unless they are un-christian. Turn the other cheek..."

You sanity is not in question - that issue is settled.

Next.

Love and peace.

This article makes some good points. We would be a lot better off and probably have avoided this tragedy if we hadn't ceded so much ground to the evils of atheism, socialism, feminism, homosexuality, fornication, and pornography.

Huh? How exactly does fanatical, lunatic fringe Islam fit into this scheme?

Talking about God and knowing Him are not the same thing.

James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble!

Saying you believe in God has nothing to do with eternal salvation through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. What a wake-up call so many having coming to them. Unfortunately, it will be too late.

Maybe I can help clarify a little. Abraham and Sarah had a son named Issac. When they were promised a son in their dotage by God, Sarah had laughed and told Abraham to get his son from her maid, Hagar. Hagars son was Ishmael. Issac is the "father" of the Jews and Ishmael is the "father" of Islam. Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God. Islamics believe Mohammed was the prophet fortold. Of course, the Jews believe neither. This is a VERY simplistic answer but I think it does answer your question.

Dave S, I agree that many of these fundamentalists are ignorant loons, but I don't get the problem you have with that bit you quoted. I'm an educated Catholic, and I don't believe that "We all worship the same God just under different names either." If you're a Christian, whether a mainstream evangelical, a fundamentalist, an Orthodox Christian, or a Roman/Eastern Catholic, you believe there is one true God, manifested in the Trinity, and that's it. My God does not stand shoulder to shoulder with Buddha, Vishnu, Shiva, Jehovah (of the Watchtower Society), L. Ron Hubbard, Xenu, Allah, or the Great Spirit as "one of the boys."

Umm, maybe its because a complacent Christian Church is not to blame. Its a bunch of fanatical terrorists that decided to strike three buildings with planes. I don't see the connection between this and a complacent Church.

Gumbo, technically, Allah is the same God of the Christians and the Jews. In that, I mean, Muslims believe him to be Yahweh or the Father. However, the Islamic Allah seems to be a very big departure from the Judeo-Christian God.

As a Christian, my opinion is that Christianity is more an evolution of Judaism. Now, a Jew would disagree with me on this, but I think both would agree that we share more in common than Islam.

You must do this:

acts 22:16

And now why tarriest thou? arise and be baptized and wash away thy sins calling on the name of the Lord.

I am still a sinner. I must do the same.
