"Aaron is a brilliant writer who has something he wants to say. We have great faith in his abilities to interpret last week's events in a manner that will make this an important hour of television," NBC Entertainment President Jeff Zucker said.

translation...he will be mainlining speedballs to get this one ready in time...

Know where we can get our hands on anti aircraft missiles to knock the fake Air Force One out of the sky when it flies back into fake Washington?...We could say we were portraying the real terrorists that they overlooked writing into the script.

What do you want to bet they show the actor president as rushing back to the White House immediately in a big old show of bravery?

Exactly! He will then personally go to Afghanistan and hunt down Osama bin Laden. When he finds him, Osama and his men will threaten the fake President, who, unflapped, tells Osama that we must not fight, but love each other. Osama then breaks down, and says he's very sorry, and explains that he had an entirely different view of Americans, which he thought were made up of only nasty Republicans, having never met a Democrat (like the fake President). At that point, the fake President and Osama and his men, hold hands, and begin singing We are the world - We are the children, each in their respective languages.

Production on the episode, titled "Isaac and Ishmael,"

From this title, I am afraid that we are going to be lectured that US policies towards the Middle East (i.e. friendly towards Israel) is the cause of the terrorism.

Wonderful idea - of course, somehow we would need to make it a surprise attack.

My guess is that they will have the president go STRAIGHT to teh white house and say something like "shouldn't you fly to nebraska" and sheen will say no--etc etc--i see this as an opportunity to "re-write" what they think bush should've done--which should be about impossible b/c he did everything completely correct.

You're right about "trivializing" the tragedy on this leftie show. The audience can't possibly sit through it. Ratings will be low and their plan to capitalize on WTC will backfire.

Talk about taking advantage of a tragedy! Arnold Schwarzeneggar's latest movie is being shelved as it would be in poor taste to release it now, and this creep Sorkin is going to squeeze it for all it's worth. The guy needs to lay off the crack.

This liberal show may tank soon because of the right-wing sort of feel in the country right now. I don't watch it much but when I do it's for laughs because liberals are pretty funny when you think about it. They are sickening too, but these people are just actors so they're not any threat. I think the fast pace of the show is hilarious, like these people can come up with what they perceive as witty comebacks every few seconds with no sweat. And the comebacks are lame anyway because they are just so much liberal B.S. This is a liberal utopia feel good show, like Woodstock, the U.N., peace and love all rolled into one. What has to be killing liberals and democrats right now is that President Bush has the kind of support in his first year that clinton never had in eight years. And democrats must support him or look like traitors. So much for control of the Senate, eh?

I've seen the show a few times - Sorkin must have a narcotics flowing into every orifice of his body, including an opium suppository.

I smelled 'left wing propaganda' when this show started and never watched it.

Apparently NO ONE on this thread ACTUALLY WATCHED the episode.

First, in opening remarks, it is clearly stated that ALL PROFITS from the airing of the show would go to the Firefighters / Policemen's Relief funds. Secondly, if you leave off the Buffalo Springfield song at the end, it was remarkably even-handed. It contained NONE of the usual liberal pablumous palaver. It was informative. The bright kids on the WH tour were posing extremely challenging questions. None of the usual political cliches intruded.

You would have, amazingly, found very little with which to disagree.
