Bin Laden has been extremely clear on what he wishes to accomplish and a number of sources quote him. Here is another one:
And there is such anger in the Middle East at the moment about the Americans policies here and whether it be the deaths of tens of thousands of children in Iraq, which Osama Bin Laden has spoken about, whether it be continued occupation and expansion of Jewish settlements in Arab land which hes also spoken about, whether it be about the continued dictatorships, Arab dictatorships, which are supported in large part by the west, especially in the Gulf area, about which Osama Ben Laden has spoken about and condemned, . . . (Source)You can accuse Bin Laden of many things, but being unclear is not one of them.
To whom has he said these things?
Has he said that he is avenging the children of Iraq? Has he said that he wants the U.S. to stop funding Israel? If his problem is with Arab "dictatorships" (who is a Taliban leader to say such a thing?), why is he blowing up American buildings?
Let me ask you: What is it you think will get him off the USA's case?
"Understanding" Bin Laden is like trying to understand a snake.
They bite because they can.
You stop a snake by cutting off the head.
It's us or them.
Then it's clear he wants to be some kind of dictator of the entire Middle East. He wants no other leaders ---he uses the accusation they are controlled by the West. He wants no Israeli expansion, obviously only the Islamics are allowed to expand---even into the US. He is nothing but an evil man very much like Hitler who was also determined to kill all the Jews and rule as much of the world as he could.
