Even Rush Says It's Good To Hear A Finally Confident Bush

Was listening to Rush today.

For those who have taken it on the chin for daring to question the lack of a resolute leader in Bush until recently due to his luke warm speeches until last Friday about the 9-11 tragedy, even the great one says that the speech last night was Bush FINALLY at his best.

Rush said that he has been upset that Bush hadn't effectively used the Bully Pulpit and finally delivered a convincing and moving message and even more important a message that was effective and could rally the American people. He admitted that Bush had been at best luke warm since the election and he has been disappointed in that.

Said that one of the Bush speech writers (handlers)said we finally "allowed Bush to be Bush" when the speech was written and delivered last night.

I even commented to a friend and my wife that this was a very effective speech, well crafted and even more important well delivered. IT was moving.

Caught about ten minutes of Rush 2 different days this week after almost a year without hearing him...I have a question. Has anyone but me noticed a change in his voice? It really struck me both times. He is either 1}Using his haughty affected voice all the time now, or 2}He has a serious medical condition in the area of his esophagus or bronchial tubes.

Caught Matthews on Imus this morning.

Apart from the usual digs about Bush not being an orator, and, in essence, not smart enough to please northeastern libs, Matthews was extremely complimentary. He compared Bush to Churchill, MacArthur, FDR.

I was pleasantly surprised. But reflecting on it, Matthews has always seemed reasonably fair with honest pols.

I do have to admit I like Tom getting oboard and supporting President Bush, but we'll have to keep an eye on him!

lot's of things missing.....but I keep track of what the great one says.....I'm just reparaphrasing the old boy. I too felt Bush was flat early on......but has uniquely risen to the occaision. He was GREAT last night. His Friday appearance at the cathedral and NYC was inspired. Early on he was flat.

I happened to hear Rush warn about the new Homeland Defense czar. That is was an expansion of government and something to watch out for...

Not only was that a well-composed speech, but President Bush was comfortable, himself. He devlivered it so honestly and that was the greatest I've seen him. Sometimes he may seem uptight, but he delivered that so beautifully. And he said what needed to be said.
