Planned Parenthood of New York City (PPNYC) has put out a press release indicating it is offering free abortions for a limited time in the wake of the terrorist attacks on the city.
Following the example of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) which over the past few years has used tragic events to target stricken communities with "reproductive health kits"-- including abortifacient drugs and devices-- PPNYC is offering "complete reproductive health care from September 18-22 free of cost." The press release by PPNYC lists among the "services" they provide "birth control; emergency contraception; medical and surgical abortion."
As recently as last month, LifeSite reported that pro-life groups in El Salvador were blasting the UNFPA for using the tragedy caused by recent devastating earthquakes in the country to promote abortion. UNFPA sent reproductive health kits including abortifacient morning-after-pills and vacuum aspirators used for early term abortions. Julia Cardenal, president of "Si A La Vida" (Yes to Life) told Cybercast News Service, "We had two major earthquakes in El Salvador in January and February of this year, and instead of sending us food or medicine, or something to meet our needs, they sent a range of contraception devices."
Perhaps that's the rationalle, but I can't imagine it. I would think it far more likely that WTC widows who had been considering an abortion but didn't get one will now be glad they held off, and those who had gotten one will be in extreme regret.
Excellent observation.
This bump's for you, patent.
For all the horror and unspeakable terror I have viewed on my TV and computer screen this past week, this THIS ABOMINATION IS TO MAKE ONE RETCH.
As much as I hate PP, the title placed on this is misleading, the press release does not say they are providing free abortions for NYC, unless "among others" means abortions. Free GYN services and birth control I can understand for displaced women. I am however, disgusted by their tactics in El Salvador, there is no rationale for that action.
I agree with you--I also pray that its true. Sure would be nice to think that so much death might change some hearts out there. It would have been nicer if people, especially women, realized the value of life without having to lose so much of it first.
And they're in the churches, too:
From PLANNED PARENTHOOD SEX CLASS ---- AT A CHURCH! [Free Republic]:
"According to a current Planned Parenthood brochure, "What children should know and when they should know it,"... The nine to thirteen age group should be informed, according to PP, about what abortion is (not from the baby's point of view of course) and that sex acts can be separate from reproductive acts. Planned Parenthhood also desires that children in this age group should be able to name types of contraceptives, and where to obtain them..."

"Planned Parenthood: The Ultimate Masquerade: Read this eye-opening report and get the real story on one of the most radical, destructive social forces in our nation. Behind the Mask exposes Planned Parenthood's horrifying agenda and what's really going on in this federally funded agency with an annual budget of $450 million and a work force of 22,000 people."
Grand Illusions: The Legacy of Planned Parenthood by George Grant (Published by Holly Hall Publications):
"Grand Illusions: The Legacy of Planned Parenthood is an in-depth exposé stripping away the silver lining and revealing the rot within this powerful organization. As both sides continue their debate, now is better than ever to take a godly stand and make a difference in the direction society is heading!"
Planned Parenthood Legacy I-III by George Grant (CD of Broadcast, Published by Focus on the Family):
"Exposing the Shameful History of Planned Parenthood: Dr. George Grant joins Dr. Dobson for an in-depth discussion of Planned Parenthood's racist roots, systematic suppression of facts about abortion and false image as a "healthcare provider" for women. He exposes the real agenda of "pro-choice" activists and tells Christians what they can do to take a stand."
Methinks "emergency contraception" is code for "abortion". Granted, it's a misnomer because there's no emergency if conception hasn't taken place, but I think that's what that phrase means.
It isn't sick. Sickening, perhaps, but not sick. These foul bastards at Planned Barrenhood know what they are doing. It's evil. E-V-I-L. Evil. Don't you feel a little better calling it by its right name?
You're welcome.
AB
Understand too, that to Planned Parenthood, abortion is another means of contraception.
To them it's all the same thing....condoms, IUD's, Depo-provera, b/c pills, abortion.
PP zealots consider pregancy the worse thing that can happen to a woman....
It must be avoided or gotten rid of using any means.....and promptly.
These people are monsters. And it's amazing that they're accepted as part of the Establishment.
Just a few days ago, some "official" psychiatric association issued a public statement condemning scientology for sending counselors to the WTC scene. I haven't seen anyone but FR condemning PP...
This reminds me of another recent thread (things are moving so fast that I've lost track of the title), but in describing the conditions of women under the Taliban, the writer observed that both NOW and the Feminist Majority have "active campaigns" in progress within Afghanistan trying to end Taliban oppression of women...
If I were an Islamic guy and all I knew about America was what I learned from representatives from NOW and the Feminist Majority, I might hate America, too. If Muslims in Afghanistan feel that those people are trying to impose their culture on Afghanistan, then it becomes more understandable when they refer to US as the Great Satan... (Heck, I wish NOW and the Feminist Majority would get the heck out of America...) Mark W.
