I was touched by 1) the apparent true feelings of friendship which President Bush has built with the Democrat leadership, by 2) the obvious look of disgust by McCain, and 3) by the righteousness of MY president.

Did you see the senate speeches after W spoke? I must say, I've never seen Daschle so compliant and supporting in his puny little history. Lott was uninspiring and flat. Oh well, no need to try to compete with his President.

W telegraphed some serious messages to the international community tonight. And even more serious messages to the terror-mongers of the world.

BE PROUD, we are all proud OF you. As far as America's "greatest generation", she may not have seen it yet, it may be your grandchildren. Take heart, stay strong, and stand proud.

Jeffords likely feel like a real piece of shit tonight. Accurately right on I'd say.

Forget FDR's "Day of Infamy".

We've now witnessed supreme purpose.

The reason why you hear the Satanic version is because it is more apt, especially when dealing with the feds.

W blasted that one out of the park! It's got to be one of the best political speeches I've heard since the Gipper. Our Gov. Tom Ridge will be leaving Pennsylvania, for which we will be sad. But, our nation calls and Gov. Ridge will perform his duties well, I am certain of that.

Do not fear or resent the "peaceniks" as they wallow in self righteous cowardice. They do not have what you have. The sense of duty, honor, country, patriotism. They cannot fathom the love of America that beats within you. They are to be pitied and scorned at the same time.

Our construction site, an elementary school, has a large American flag mounted atop the highest point of the as yet unfinished building. It can be seen from a distance as people pass by on the roadway. Workers' vehicles sport American flags on their antennae and clipped to window frames. The mood is both somber and defiant. Those who have attacked our civilization know not what they have sown and cannot fathom the bitter harvest they will reap.

Soon enough the debt will be collected. The world will cease to be what it once was.

I'm sitting here all alone after watching the in my office. I feel like I just have to tell someone that that was the most powerful, most moving speech I have ever heard in my life.

It was a great speech! That's my Bush! (Which is what I always say to the vacuous libs when they criticize the President for his most recent Bushism. No Bushisms tonight.)

A 30 on a scale of 1 to 10.

I loved Reagan....but this was the finest speech I have ever heard.

With the exception of a few nutjobs, everybody is on board with Bush.......

The media is drooling with praise for this speech.

I don't know about nutjobs, but this guy has a valid point.

His comments are in italic. .

I'm at a loss for words to describe the silliness of why a new cabinet position on terrorism is needed in response to such a horrible attack, but, yet, war is not necessary?

When Japan bombed us in 1941 we responded with a declaration of war, not a new bureaucrat.

"Homeland Defense"? Where have we heard that one before?

83 Posted on 09/20/2001 18:48:46 PDT by PatrioticAmerican

I'm not too comfortable with the potential here as well.

But I gotta admit, the speech floored me!

I've been sitting on the fence like a lot of others on W, but this is looking real good.

LET'S ROLL!

President Bush didn't hit a home run with this speech.

He hit a Grand Slam.

He touched all of the bases and high-fived his way to the dugout. Awesome.

On a side note, why is that little communist, Cynthia McKinney (D-Georgia) always positioned at the end of the row? Is she that desperate for face time?

Judy Woodruff asked their White House correspondent, "The president had so much right going for him, couldn't he have said just about anything?"

To his credit, the guy on camera with her gave her a look and responded, "No..."

Awesome speech. A man who understands that there is good and evil. I am proud to be an American tonight. God Bless President Bush and the warriors he is about to let loose on the dogs in Afghanistan.

She watched as her 2004 hopes evaporated.

And all of her Liberal agenda, too. No presidency, no agenda, nothing but doing what's best for the USA. How long before hillary wants out?
