Hi kat--that's what I've been thinking--poor Hillary is now no more than a junior senator from NY--she will spend the next 6-12 months of her life passing GW's agenda--she will be getting phone calls ringing off the hook from her NYC constituents when she can't deliver the goods--BTW the only people who've I heard questioning GW's motives against terrorism are inner city blacks who keep talking about what we did to the poor Palestinians by supporting Israel--these whining voices of people who just want perpetual handouts from the tax coffers will be shut out--damn even Kwesi was there tonight jockeying to get into position and shake GW's hand.

I am so proud of our president--he just keeps getting better and better--I remember that Peggy Noonan once said that he had the potential for greatness and would grow into the part--so prophetic--only wish Barbara Olsen was here to see this.

BTW can you imagine if Beavis and Butthead had scraped into the office? The pocket-protector dork and the perpetual kvetsch (whiner) trying to lead our military at this point in time after having tried to surpress the overseas military vote in Florida.

God has blessed our country but it sure was a close shave! May God protect George W Bush and America.

By morning, President Bush's approval rating will be over 100%......

OldFriend, what a great screen name. I know what you mean, but 100% is asking too much because no matter what they say in public, there are people that will actually say how they feel to the pollsters (Hillary, Little Dickie, DascHOLE, Gephardt, Jennings, Brokaw, Rather...need I go on...)...

Hi, Yep, hillary has definitely be relegated to the peanut gallery, just where she belongs.

Thank God, for President Bush!

Did you hear Lott say: "I thank God every day that George W. Bush is our President!"

Schumer couldn't praise him enough. He even took a implied slap at Clinton. He said that we ignored the bombing of the WTC 6 years ago. Then 6 years late the terrorists destroy it.....we must not ignore them now but destroy them or the future will hold worse acts of terror.

I think he may finally realize that GWB is a real leader & statemen in contrast to X42. That's probably why Shillery looks so crestfallen......she knows America finally sees the contrast as well!

BTW, I've sometimes thought that given the media's way of coming up with various "indices" and so on it might be interesting to have an adjusted 'approval rating' scale that takes into account the fact that the closer a President gets to 100%, the more significant is any change.

What do you think of using the formula 10*log(approval/disapproval)? On such a scale, 91% approval/9%disapproval would be a '10', 50% approval/50% disapproval would be a '0', and (if someone really wanted to try for the impossible) 99% approval/1% disapproval would be a 20.

Of course, most people wouldn't understand what the numbers meant, but most people don't know what a heat index means (other than "too hot") or a wind-chill index ("too cold"). Bush would have reached a '10' on this scale, which I think is doing pretty darned well.

Ditto on everything you said! Yes, Hillary sees that she is no match for Dubya and that her hubby will go down in the history books with scandal attached to his name instead of greatness. Dubya will be given the honor that he will deserve. He is already proving that he has the right stuff to be one of the greats! I sure am proud of "OUR GUY"!

Hillary looked awful....unkempt and in her black pantsuit. The only thing missing was the hot pink shirt. Laura was stunningly beautiful, as always.

This is one Palm Beach County voter who is so proud I fought in enemy territory at home to get our great president elected!

You were truly on the front lines of that battle to save our country from disaster. I feel like we were in a war with that whole election fiasco, too! A war for the soul and goodness of this country. I shudder to think of what we would be going through with Gore and HIS administration right now! They could NEVER handle this with the same professional ability that we are seeing now! Thank you to each and every Florida voter who voted for Bush in that election!

You didn't hear the President speaking last night. You heard the Commander-In-Chief. That's the time every one turns right, salutes army parade smartly, and says to a man and a woman "Yes Sir!" This was a President to all make us proud to be Americans. A Crisp Salute To The Commander-In-Chief! Cheers!!! :-)

Is there any doubt that the dems are thanking G-D that it's President Bush and Vice President Cheney, rather than Gore and LIEberman. They now know what we always knew. If people never prayed before, now is the time!!!!

God works in mysterious ways, doesn't he? George W. Bush having America united behind him

Thanks for the ping.
I could not watch the address as I was in a class last night.
But I've been astounded by the reports/comments I've heard hear in LA on
talk radio.
Paul Harvey reported that the BBC carried the address LIVE and said something to the
effect that it was one of the great moments of American History.

Dennis Prager did a point-by-point exegesis (sp?) of the address and he (and I suspect
99% of the audience) went ga-ga! There was even an Afghani-American (recently became
a US citizen) who called in and said that even though he was secular, that he thought
he saw the light of G-d while witnessing the address last night.

I haven't communed much (been real busy) with my fly-over Freeper-Friends
lately...but as I tell my relatives/friends in OK, MO, TX, and Edmondton, Alberta (Canada),
the time since Terrorist Tuesday has been a REVELATION here in Southern California.

It has almost been sensory overload to see so many "Old Glory"s flying from cars, buildings,
and even on people. With all due respect to the fine folks of Mexico, it's been STUNNING
to realize that I live in a city in the United States of America, not a northern suburb of Mexico City.

And G-d Love all the people here in Los Angeles, Southern California, even the
ultra-sophisticated folks in Beverly Hills and Brentwood.

Osama has done screwed up. By his hideous act, he's made a lot of us realize that
"America's Heartland" is not just Oklahoma, Texas, or "flyover country"...it's the whole
freakin' USA...sadly with the exception of enclaves in some of our Universities
and Colleges. (Of course, I've always said that we have these institutions for twin purposes:
to educate and to keep some dangerous or nutty folks off the streets!).

Heck, Osama, with his dastardly deeds, has even this old Oklahoma home-boy...
I can't believe I'm saying it...loving New York City.
Without Osama, we "flyover" folks might never have gotten past the conventional
wisdom that New York City folks don't have much of a heart or the capacity to
express true emotion or sentiment.

Here, let me get it out of the way before I leave some ocular saline secretions
(know as "tears") in my keyboard.

G-d Bless America.

Oh, and I apologize for the snide remarks I've made about "Things British"
(such as bad cuisine and those notoriously unreliable Lucas electrical systems in
British Cars).
I did see Tony Blair with Dubya just before the Address. I DON'T CARE if Tony Blair is a
political chameleon in the mold of Bill Clinton...at least he's saying the sort of
words I'd expect of a Prime Minister from a country that spawned a Churchill.
And good thoughts to the folks of the U.K.; I can't tell you what it means to have
Q.E.II directing the playing of our national anthem by her Coldstream Guards and hearing
it in Old St. Pauls.

When I bought a "Life" Magazine retrospective on Pearl Harbor about a month ago, how
could I ever know I'd be alive to see a real "Pearl Harbor II" here on our
own soil, directed against civilians and killing more than on the Battelship Arizona?
These are incredible times.

Please forgive my rambling and jingo-istic prose...I'll go away and compose myself now...
