I remember going to DC and getting off the metro only to be met by the Iranian opposition who had a display of pictures. The pictures were of people in various stages of disrepair from Iranian bullets and torture. The images were meant to anger. Instead it produced two responses: Disgust from me and amazement from a group of teens who stood gaped-mouth murmuring "cool" over and over again. Not the intent of the pictures I am sure. I realize some people like to watch that kind of stuff but I'm not one of them.

I don't need to see people falling to know they fell. Some things are better left unseen for the sake of decency. This isn't a criticism. I think the site is great and have forwarded it to everyone I know.

I understand Appy. Some things are DEFINITELY left unsaid and unseen for decenvy.

But in this case, decades from now, people will not remember what you and I saw with our own eyes. The horror of it will be far removed from them. In order to remeber this as a people, in order to take the steps now and in the future to eradicate the sources of it and insure it is never allowed to raise its ugly head, unfortunately, like the horrific pictures of the holocaust, this is one of those times I feel we need to steel ourselves to the brutal reality.

Again, I appreciate and respect your input and will place a statement on the site regarding this.

I disagree.
If a member of MY family had died in either the WTC or the Pentagon (whether or not he/she was one who jumped) I would want the USA and the world to never forget the cowardly act, by leaving any photos showing the devastation, pain, and loss of life for ALL the world to see!

These are no different than the pictures of our dead soldiers in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Somalia, or Iraq. At first I thought of protecting the sancity of the families of those seen as I am sure they have been recongnized. Then I to realized they are the victims of war, not murder victims or car accident victims, but casualties of war. What I am now reading on Drudge and here on FR leads me to believe that already the public is starting to forget. A "thank you it didn't happen to me" sort of attitude. Well, guess what it did happen to you, it happened to each and everyone of us. A little of each of us died with those 5,000+ that have already died. I held a friend in Vietnam as he died, a bit of me died with him that day in May 1971, do you think I will ever forget him?

I don't think anything I've seen yet on the TV news captured how horrific the event was as did your site. The people jumping to escape the fire....too horrible.

I agree with JH, I think it best to leave it unsanitized. I hadn't seen any of these images before and I'm really...I dunno, we shouldn't forget what happened. We need to remain resolute against the monsters who could do something so awfull, and so I think it's important to remember just how horrible it is.
