Remember the peace movement? It's back on campus. This time it's called "Peaceful Justice," and students are swimming against the patriotic tide following last week's terrorist attacks. A wave of anti-war sentiment crests at noon Thursday on 150 college campuses in 36 states. Organizers expect as many as 8,000 people to rally at the University of California-Berkeley and as few as several dozen to sign letters to President Bush at Baylor University, a Baptist school in Waco, Texas. They are a distinct minority, but these students want the nation to hear their argument for "justice without war," and their distress at the rapid move to war footing.

When the Vietnam war protest movement started the media focused on the dissidents, ignoring the 90% of all other students who didn't protest, didn't burn draft cards, didn't burn ROTC buildings, and in general comported themselves as citizens should.

I suggest this time around we let the media know that WE know their little game.

Cheering on Der Schlickmeister's war crimes.

In its mission statement, the group opposes "retaliatory violence" and urges U.S. policymakers to study the underlying causes of terrorism.

Good idea. Imagine all the lives that would have been saved if instead of going to war against Nazi Germany, we had studied the underlying causes of a paper hanger gone mad.

....Jessica Gould's father, Harris, a New Jersey lawyer, also protested the Vietnam War. The difference now, he says, is that "we are under a direct threat" and must "root out" terrorists....

Sounds like Jessica's father eventually grew up and went to work. Maybe Jessica should be yanked out of college and sent to the employment office. Some hard work would give her an opportunity to think about how good she has life here in the USA.

As a Vietnam veteran, I'm quaking in my boots. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that we're having a revival of our own domestic Viet Cong. At this rate we'll lose again. We must have a declaration of war. Treason must be made odious.

I suggest this time around we let the media know that WE know their little game.

The media doesn't care that we know ... their Leftist agenda is all that matters to them.

As for the Vietnam protesters, they were all self-serving dupes. Their protest movement started in the days of Selective Service (If you were Selected, you did the Service). Changing to the lottery system did little to tone down their protests - there was still a chance the little farts would still have to serve their country.
... but when Nixon ended the draft, the protests largely disappeared. The peace-creeps didn't really care about war, as long as THEY didn't have to go.

" says Jessica Gould, 20, a Harvard sophomore from Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J. "We shouldn't answer the deaths of thousands of innocent people with more deaths of innocent people."

No Jessica, if we do nothing, Bin Laden will make sure that more innocent Ameican lives are lost because we are the great Satan. Don't you get it Jessica, if they could, they would shoot you right between the eyes? Why? Because you are an AMERICAN. You are fair game in their Jihad, and with a last name like Gould, maybe they will have an extra virgin waiting for them in heaven if they kill you.

These guys should put their life where their mouth is.

They should go to Afghanistan and "talk" to Bin Laden to bring him to justice...

They would be doing the world a favor... In more ways than one...

Being a late baby boomer who has a brother who is 10 yrs older then me (he was a leftist in College)during the Vietnam War, I witnessed so much. But, let me say to all of the anti-war protesters... Nobody and I mean nobody wants war, but like many things in life you sometimes have to do what you have to do. Moreover, anti-war protesters, there are things worth fighting for!!!! Our Freedom, your Freedom and your right to voice your opinion. Remember, anti-war protesters, this right has been given and will continue to be given to you because of our Brave and Heroic American soldiers home and abroad who have fought and died for you and they continue to do so. One more thing, my brother grew up to discover that all he thought was the right thing to do was in fact the wrong thing to do. And me, the anti-war protesters of the 60's taught me everything I don't/didn't want to be. I have taught my children. We as a family learned from the 60's anti-war protesters. What they put our Country and most importantly our Viet Vets through, I/we will never forget!!!

The organizers of today's events are not ready to settle for that. "I personally feel that war is never the solution," says Andy Ross, 25, of Madison. "It's better to sit down and talk and work these things out, rather than going into a violent situation which will inevitably harm innocent people."

Let me be blunt Andy. Bin Laden would happily slit your throat, paint his face with your blood and dance in the street.

I wouldn't spend too much emotional capital on this. These kids are living under INTENSIVE politically correct scrutiny on campus - especially the campuses noted - these days. They are out rallying for the same reason many of the protesters during Vietnam rallied - it's a great way for life-foolish coeds to meet one another. It's finally an event involving men and women that will be free of the normally assumed intent of date rape.

Organizers expect as many as 8,000 people to rally at the University of California-Berkeley ...

Herb Caen, a columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle used to refer to San Francisco as Baghdad-By-The-Bay. It would be safe to call Berkeley as Kabul-By-The-Bay.

There are many leftist manifesto spouting malcontents there. I doubt if any would ever pick up arms to fight for what they believe in, ( the latest anti-USA rant).

They are termites, cockroches, stinkbugs, weevils and maggots.

What these traitorous people are essentially saying is that those who died at the WTC and the Pentagon deserved what they got. Counter-protestors (read patriots) should have huge signs that asks self-proclaimed peace activists: "So, what you're saying is the victims deserved it?"
