It's funny. I'm happy now, because we had successful fundraiser when it was near the brink of failure, but on the other hand, reading the threads and how firefighters refuse to ride on a fire truck in Florida because it had an American flag on it.

That is APPALLING....

The volunteer firefighters here in Delaware were sent home because there were too many in New York, but a large group went up this morning to cover a station on Long Island so all of the members of that station could attend the funeral of one they lost last week without any danger of the community being without assistance.

The idea of a firefighter refusing to man a truck because of the American flag is just incomprehensible to me.

There are 3 generation of NYPD in my family (brother, dad, grandad) and lots of my friends became cops or fireman in the late 70's - I am absolutely sickened.
