Consequently, it is just a matter of time before U.S. leaders take the easy way out and desert Israel, hoping by demonstrating their tolerance they will escape the wrath of the equally morally correct terrorists.Let me just point out at the start of this thread that the Arab world, though diverse, is HUGE. The total area of Arab countries is similar to CONUS. The country of Israel is LESS than HALF as large as the Navajo Reservation.
This TINY bit of land is what the Arabs are presenting as the "just cause" of global unrest. This TINY parcel of land, smaller than an indian reservation, set within an undeveloped land area equal or greater to CONUS.
The absurdity is overwhelming. If Americans had a greater understanding of geography we as a country would laugh off the Arab complaints.
The Arabs who can't live with Israel are the bad guys. As bad as the Nazis -- and worse, because these scum have brought their war directly to our shores. Mark W.

Well, the comparison of Nazis and Arabs is an interesting one. How about the Zionists in pre-WWII Palestine making an agreement with the Nazi government for the transfer of German Jews to Palestine. Both movements agreed that the Jews should be out of Germany and they should go to Palestine to form a country. Both movements held similar beliefs in the superiority of their individual peoples.
Personal antipathy towards the Arabs is one thing but to make it a governmental policy is another. The same can be said for a too passionate attachment to a country. Before this attack Israel was having to answer for their policies towards the Palestinian people including the Palestinian Christians. Now this attack has taking much of the heat off them.
Yes, the fundamentalist Christians have been fooled by the Zionist government in Israel and the Israelis have been very good at playing that hand. However, the Catholic Church has maintained that the Israelis must deal justly with the Palestinians and little research will show that they haven't.

My! My! The world treating the German state unfairly after WWI led to their aggression in WWII, also placing blame for their economic situation on their Jewish citizens. The world, in protecting their oil interests, through British Petroleum and Britain, plunked down this new state of Israel, with the world's assent, but not the assent of the people who lived there since their origins, as Canaanites, etc. OBVIOUSLY, the Palestinians should not aquiesce, no matter the size of the muslim world. Or should the rest of the world deign to carve out a nation in the midst of our country for African descendants, the Japanese who were the ancestors of three of our American tribes, plus of course a country for all our Indian tribes? The Jewish people invaded the Arab world from Africa, why not have seen if their homeland would accept them? Because it did not have oil or a strategic position on the Gulf. So what if they formed a democracy It is not a true democracy, with equal rights for all its people. And why not let all countries determine their own destiny unless there are
SERIOUS human rights violations. Respect others' differences. They often are based on wisdom we haven't a grasp of. Hypocritically, we condemn them, while a flurry of PC people bask in their feigned right positions, which disrespect us all. The boundaries of nations and empires have changed because the people themselves have fought for their lands, but when uninvolved nations determine others boundaries with their own selfish interests in mind, why should we want or expect them to stand? Lokk at MacArthur's treatment of Japan as the better model.
Our nation has almost unlimited oil reserves if we get on line a new method of cold-process extraction, in the meantime using our other known reserves. Let's undo our harm based on our own interests, not the Arab world's; and fight Israel, if they do not allow an East Jerusalem Palestine or an international Jerusalem as a home for all faiths, and a Palestine state in the Gaza, etc, at the least. I will critique the very fallible article later.

This is the continuation of a 3000 yr old war. It is antisemetic. It is hatred of US and US support of Jews. We must support the state of Israel. Antisemeticism is and seems to always have been a blight on the world. It is founded by the antisemetics, no matter where they are and have been, on religious fanaticism. It is sick. We have assimilated the Jews into our country and, for the first time in history, with no antisemetic outbreaks. We cannot ever turn our backs on Israel and unleash a terrible scourge.

That "tiny bit of land" just happens to possess the third most powerful military in the world, courtesy of technology transfers and countless billions of dollars from the United States, not through any amazing skill or genius of its people. Those arab countries may be larger in geographical terms, but except for a tiny cadre of oil shieks and nasty dictators, the people are mired in third world squalor. To pretend that rock throwing, poverty stricken youngsters pose a threat to a military and intelligence force (unlike our pathetic CIA, the Mossad is a superb and deadly agency) that is light years ahead of any of its neighbors in every sense of the word, is ridiculous.
