Give Us Our Government...Now!

For months, congressional Democrats have held up many of President Bush's key appointments, leaving him without a full team. The nation cannot tolerate this anymore.

This needs no further documentation. The record is manifest.

America is one nation now. It is no longer a nation split down the middle.

It has one president. His name is George W. Bush.

That man has, since the Eleventh of September, the most-awesome job on the face of this Earth.

The Captain Needs His Team

If President Bush is to govern as the Founding Fathers and the Constitution intended a president to govern, he must have a full team. Those executive departments and agencies don't run by their lonesome. They have to be peopled with competent people responsible and loyal to the president, who alone is accountable to all Americans.

In recent days, members of Congress have been absolutely magnificent, Democrats and Republicans alike, closing ranks, setting aside partisan silliness, coming together as one. Now let them put that into actual practice.

Democrats in control of the Senate, which has the confirmation power, can break the logjam their key members created during their partisan-pettiness days. It can give the president the full complement of appointees he needs to run America's government.

Anything short of that is playing into the terrorists' hands.

It would be like sending battalions into battle at partial strength.

No More Excuses

There is no reasonable excuse for not giving the people of America the full team their government requires.

Congress can do it, and it can do it now.

Do it now.

Do you think Congress will do it? Will Schumer still want to make ideology an issue? How will Leahy react if Bush has to replace a Supreme Court Justice while all of this is going on?

Many, many, many. The Democrats have slowed the confirmation process to a crawl and Clinton's people are still in key positions in most agencies. We hear only of the judges not being confirmed but the most sinister movement is to keep liberal dems in place by not confirming Bush's appointments to all key positions below the Dept. heads.

You know, I'm scratching my head thinking about this myself, so I did a search over at Newsmax and I found these articles about recent appointments (we're down into the #2 and #3 positions now).

Bush Nominates Another Whitewater Prober for Top Justice Post

Senate OKs Mueller for FBI, Hutchinson for DEA

Senate Dems Reject Consumer Nominee

Senators Block Pentagon Nomination

These stories go back about a month. It seems like it was so long ago. I can't recall at this time who's left.

Thanks, guys. I guess President Bush has been busy too (Gee, it's nice to type 'President' with a capital letter).

I expect he'll get his appointments now, or as soon as the troops are underway....FRegards

Attention Senate Democrats:

Are you patriots or traitors?
Time to show your true colors.

I assume you intended this as a rhetorical question, one you already know the answer to. The Dems are being cooperative now because there is no way to spin there opposition to Bush that would be acceptable to the American peopole. A few, like Meehan and Neal, tried but quickly got their hands slapped and backed off. If they will protect obvious traitors like Slick Willie and algore (while still pushing Hillary to the forfront) in order to maintain power, you know they don't care a whit about this country. Not then, not now!

Yes unfortunately I do. They want the destruction of our Republic as much as any foreign power. The only reason for their support now is that they want to be the ones who rule.
