What an inspiring story.
I've heard of two young people here barely missing tragedy in the WTC that day.
One was supposed to go to fill coin-operated machines in the buildings that morning, but was told by his boss to wait until the afternoon.
The other young man usually worked in one of the buildings in the complex but was sent out of state instead that day. To an office right near the Pentagon.

"As soon as we reached the concourse level, the security guard stopped us and said, 'Where are you going?' Stanley explained about seeing the fire in Tower One. According to Stanley, the guard said, "Oh, that was just an accident. Two World Trade is secured. Go back to your office." I'll bet that security guard is still alive.
I wonder what his name is.

Stanley asked to be allowed to carry the man out, but a security guard told him it would be better to send somebody up Probably the same security guard.

I don't care who would rationalize -- what people would say now or years from now, but I know it was the handiwork of the Lord that turned that plane. This is roulette-wheel theology. I'm glad the fellow survived, but ... 5,000 others didn't. The survivors can think whatever they wish; the dead can't tell us their opinions.

"For some divine reason, I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the good Lord's mighty hand turned the plane a fraction from where I was standing," said Stanley. I also felt inspired to pass this story along in e-mail.....

There is an article at Drudge that says this story is an urban tale.

Since you know absolutely nothing, then, you think you could just have kept your large, ignorant, arrogant mouth
shut for once on this thread? Or is Jerry Fallwell the only man who realizes that not everything he thinks is appropriate at every time and in every place?

"As soon as we reached the concourse level, the security guard stopped us and said, 'Where are you going?' Stanley explained about seeing the fire in Tower One. According to Stanley, the guard said, "Oh, that was just an accident. Two World Trade is secured. Go back to your office." You know, I wonder how many people listened to the guards to their demise.
Our local newspaper interviewed a woman from my hometown who was in the 2nd tower. I knew her as a child - she lived in the house next to me.
She said that after the first tower was hit, she went with a group of others and took the elevator down to an area where there is a large lobby about half way down the tower. When they got off, there was an announcement on the intercom that told them everything was OK and they should return to their offices.
She said she had a feeling that going back up was not a good idea and decided to get out of the building. The elevators were not working and she had to take the stairs the rest of the way down. She did and got out. I wonder how many listened to that announcement.

I went to Drudge, and I do not find this story.

Since you know absolutely nothing, then, you think you could just have kept your large, ignorant, arrogant mouth shut for once on this thread? I'm ignorant and arrogant? The article is about some guy who imagines that God saved him, individually, while killing 5,000 others at the same time. Who's being arrogant here? I think that guy's a simpleton. Still, I'm glad he and so many others survived.
To: PatrickHenry
This article is about some guy who "imagines" that God saved him. Wow, what a cynical attitude.
To: BibChr
Don't bother trying to reason with PatrickHenry about this. For those who take the Lord seriously these kind of stories will not seem fanciful or arrogant, or anything like roulette theology. For those who follow Christ the issue will be that God's grace is simply sufficient.
Increasingly on FR I see those who are agnostic/atheist painting all Christians (Catholics or Protestants) with the bin Ladin brush. We aren't and neither are they.

http://www.newsday.com/news/local/wire/ny-bc-ny--attacks-urbanlege0918sep18.story?coll=ny%2Dap%2Dregional%2Dwire Here is the link from the Drudge Report about the urban legends spreading regarding the WTC disaster. There are several paragraphs in there describing an incident that sound suspiciously like this one. You all make up your own minds.
