Do not clarify or expand on information that is in a published source, in a way that could be of benefit to our enemies. For example, if a published article incorrectly states that the "Seventh Army Division" is being sent to Kabul, DO NOT correct the information by posting that there is no such thing as the Seventh and is it must be really be the Third Army Division from Fort XXX.

That's because they haven't yet found out the ramifications of posting classified info.
I am currently serving on active duty, and I would appreciate it very much if people would not put my shipmates in danger by flapping their gums. We take on a big enough risk by having to be there, let alone increase it by having the enemy know exactly where to come and get us. So when it comes to military movements, they are on a need to know basis ... and there are many who DON'T kneed to know.
I guess what I am saying in so many words is ....
SHUT UP! And we thank you for your support!

I had a freeper yesterday accuse me of overreacting on Loose lips sink ships. Early this morning while watching MSNBC (sorry I can't take those three from Fox in the morning), one of the NBC reporters from Fort Campbell, KY, was reporting from outside the gate. Due to word from the White House, all military operations are
"TOP SECRET" and reporters banned from inside the gates of our bases so they cannot report on troop movements.
These terrorist don't have a vast network of intelligence gathering and anything we say, they could use. Last night there was an article that they followed the news sites on the Internet and television news to gather intelligence.
Looks like Free Republic was ahead of the game and want to thank those that stood with us on this effort and to those naysayers -- either join in this effort and quit griping or go elsewhere! I don't care to be associated with folks that put their own free speech above the safety of our military.
Thanks for posting this! Really glad to keep bumping!

How many of you use a "ZoneAlarm" type product? Have you noticed the substantial increase of hits to your computer in the last couple days? The enemy is out there, watching and waiting for any little piece of information.

Bump. Why does MSNBC continue to report troop movements? Very distressing. Hopefully none of it is accurate.

Agree about the hits to the computer warning. Thanks for posting that beautiful picture of the flag!

MSNBC has been denied access to bases according to them this morning. I sat here and laughed! FINALLY!!!!!
To: WIMom
Thanks for the nice picture of the flag.
Will print it and display on the window of my vehicle.
To the subject: We must all realize (as many already do), the seriousness of the plea for NOT revealing ANYTHING that might possibly tip-off the enemy as to "who's going where" or what they're doing re preparidness etc.
The enemy has only ONE THOUGHT - to
KILL as many American men and women as they can!
Certainly none of us would want to be responsible for the death of one of our own. We are, all of us, Americans.
"They" want us wiped from the face of the earth. Never forget that.
War is serious business. Its kill or be killed, not some Playstation game.
It's VITAL to avoid "giving" the enemy any information he might be able to use.
