I think you need a green card first but their were several Canadians, some Jamaicans, one Haitian, and one South African in my company in the 504th PIR so it's worth talking to a recruiter about it. Rules about what kind of visa you need can be changed at the stroke of a pen and it seems like it was possible to get a waiver for just about anything. They might want to make you fill out a lot of forms just to make sure you're serious.

I must be doing something right. My seven, soon to be eight year old daughter took me on a quest this Saturday to find a flag to put on the house, and after we got that done, we had to reload some .308. What a kid! :)

These kids are just slow learners. No, these kids are just @ssholes. They remind me of the kids from Ridgewood, New Jersey who were interviewed after Amy Grossberg and the father of her kid (his last name was Peterson, I think) killed her newborn baby and tossed it into a dumpster.
The kids in that town were outraged -- they couldn't understand why those two were arrested.
F#cking morons.

Obviously, they have failed to understand that Those Who Refuse To Learn From History Are Doomed To Repeat It. They, and too many of our young people, also have never learned that with liberty comes responsibility. And not understanding that principle leads to the "me, me, me" syndrome.

Although I myself am not American, if called I shall offer my life for liberty. Anyone know if it is possible to enlist in the U.S. military on a Visa? My granfather (born in Greece) earned his American citizenship by serving in the U.S. Army. He earned it the hard way. He saw combat in WWI, and received a Purple Heart.
Also, the Canadians listed on the Vietnam Memorial total in excess of 1000 I am told.
If you are serious, call a recruiting station near where you live (what -- 75% of Canada's population is within a hour's drive of the US border), and tell them what you want to do. They can answer all of your questions for you. I suspect they will tell you to drive across the border, and sign up.

They, and too many of our young people, also have never learned that with liberty comes responsibility. And not understanding that principle leads to the "me, me, me" syndrome. Actually they are defying natural laws.
For 40 years they have been playing with a one sided coin: "citizens" with rights, but no responsibilities.
That never worked before...

Thanks for the info. I've seen too many of my friends and peers up here adamantly opposed to going to war, no matter the cause. It sickens me, especially since I know that this attitude is so prevalant that Canada won't enact any draft for a long, long time.
As for me, to hell with safety and security. What good is liberty if you aren't willing to sacrifice your life for it? It becomes an illusion, something 'nice to have' but easily discarded. Not for me - I say better to die in the battlefield than to live as a coward in chains.

C'mon, Rogue. Tell us how you really feel. :-)

"Our enemy will, I fear, make it personal enough for them all too soon." On the contrary, our enemy will stay as far away from these people as they can. The terrorists would view these people as potential allies who could be recruited to their cause.

For 40 years they have been playing with a one sided coin: "citizens" with rights, but no responsibilities. You are absolutely correct, and I appreciate your saying it.
And as you say, that never works. It is the root of decadence.
To: watsonfellow
I am disgusted and embarressed, they are not Americans. They are despicable, hateful, shameful .... individuals

These morons remind me of my history "teacher". Of course she didn't give the class time to voice our opinions after she told us how awful our country is. In journalism I also had a substitute like this. It was nice today when my regular teacher was back to hear members of the class demand that we never have that person for a sub again.

I hope this is a isolated incident.
Unfortunately, this is the same area where the school-children who were taken on a field trip to see the Spielberg movie Shindler's List starting cheering as the Nazi's were slaughtering the Jews. The teachers were horrified, and they quickly followed up with some more education. Spielberg even came out to talk to the kids during an assembly.

You're welcome. There were also a bunch of Mexicans but I think they were mostly Citizens and it wasn't good manners to ask them what their immigration status was so I don't really think of them as foreigners.

McClymonds High School is 99% Black.

I wonder if these ingrateful punks will change their tune when they see their friends getting burned alive, jumping out of buildings, being blown into pieces...Maybe they will change their tune when something important to them is affected by these terrorists. I saw this tragedy happen from my office and let me say, I want every person in every host/terrorist state brutally killed.
To: Mr.Clark
Really, I just hate how the media never has anything good to say about teens...as if one high school is represenative of a whole nation of teenage kids. I am still a teenager, although soon not to be, and am very patriotic and also a conservative Republican. People just need to open their eyes, there are more like me out there, lots more.
To: Mr.Clark
I knew the media would start this, with articles just like this, to suggest the younger folks don't have the will to fight. It's to weaken national morale, nothing more.
I was on a college campus today, and what a heartwarming sight -- the cars were loaded with American flags and homemade signs saying God Bless America.
