Support our Troops NOW!! e-mail to copy and paste

Please pass this e-mail around the United States to as many people as you can, as quickly as you can.

We do not know when our troops will be sent to retaliate for the Act of War by another country on ours. But they will be deployed and it will be soon.

Please, when you see someone in uniform, tell them "Thank you for serving, God Bless you and your family".

Assure them that America will take care of their families, then do it!! Donate food and money to relief society's for the military. So many are young families, and when Mom or Dad leaves, a "family" is left behind. The military's wages are awful. Many enlisted are on food stamps. Please, take care of those who are left behind while our soldiers go to serve our Country.

Comfort and Thank the Moms and Dads, siblings and friends of those who will be going to War on behalf of us all.

Rally around the Flag. Fly the Flag. Let our troops know how much they mean to us. This time it will be a long one. This time we will lose many. Blood has been shed on our shores,.. we absolutely have to respond. Tell the brave brave men and women of our Armed Services that we support them, that we appreciate their sacrifices, (and the sacrifices they are about to make are many). Let them know we know, and we appreciate them.

If you live in a community that enjoys a military presence, donate to barbecues for the families who are left behind. Try to support them as a community. The waiting and worrying is horrendous. Lets let them know we are with them.

If you are young and healthy, join up. Join the Air Force, Army, Marines or Navy. Your country needs you.

Understand that National Gaurdsmen and women will be serving too. They are your neighbors. They are teachers, policemen, store clerks, office workers etc, who normally serve as "weekend warriors". But will now be serving full time. Carry their load at work with a willing heart. Send them our Thanks, and our support.

When you hear of troops being deployed, find out where you can be to give a physical show of support. Street corners, etc. Ask your Mayors to co-ordinate with the military a time and place where your city can SHOW the troops that we stand behind them.

Take your little ones with you. Your children, and grandchildren. Let our soldiers see the faces of the Americans whom they are defending. It will be planted in their minds and sustain them during this long deployment.

Let them see the faces of the children who deserve to live in Freedom without fear as we did growing up. Let your little ones see American Heroes. Let them know that these are the people who are protecting them against the bad guys. Assure them we are in very able and capable hands.

You have a RIGHT to your opinion.
And I have a RIGHT to my opinion.
And my opinion is based upon the fact that I am a Viet Nam Vet
who well remembers what it was like NOT to have many people in the USA supporting us.
And I remember those who served with me were, as I was, immature,
BUT we who survived did come out as mature adults.
And I remember the scorn and ridicule we all received when we returned home.
So I am asking you to please not discourage others who want to support our troops.

Thank you for speaking for these two VietNam Vets. And expressing so well how important our physical support is to the troops. "Support" wasn't there once, and it was deflating, it de-moralized the troops as you and guys like my husband can attest to. Imagine those who watched their kids die there, and watched their buddy's die there. To all those forever disabled. To those who are forever mentally disabled. It was the saddest thing I've ever seen as a medical person who served conus during that time. The POW's held on to the "belief" that their grateful country awaited them. We can never let that type of thing happen again.. never!!! They deserve a send off and a welcome home!!!

I guess if you weren't a soldier who experienced the "let down" when a Nation rallied against you, when they demonstrated against you and called you "baby killers", you wouldn't know why so many of us have sponsored rally's and feel a physical show of support increases Esprit D' Cour. I didn't encounter the discrimination personally, I was a cute woman in a nurses uniform. But I can't even count the amount of guys that did. I honestly cannot! They were too numerous. Thats why we gathered in public, and made a show of FORCE for those in Desert Storm.

I will do it again, and with a willing heart. I know it is that important. How can I ask my country's young men and women to go to war, and then cower at the thought that the bad guy might get me or them if I show my support in public? I think this aspect of what the terrorist are trying to do is extremely important to think about. They are making us afraid. (Well, trying to and even succeeding in some instances). But they won't me. All our SONS and all our daughters who go to defend this Nation are precious. I just want them to know it from ME!!! And hopefully a LOT of other Americans who will not be cowarded into staying home when our troops leave. Just MHO
