Rush Should Stick to Politics and Continue to Avoid Religion

Rush has in the past refused to discuss religion, but he broke that policy today when he called Falwells' comments on the terrorist attack "indefensible" on his show today.
Why do people find it so repulsive to admit the sins and wrongs of this country? We kill 4,000 INNOCENT babies a day in the abortion mills. Should we not at least soberly consider the possibility that God is not pleased with our behavior? I am not saying that the people in the WTC we personally to blame, but rather that we as a nation are to blame, and that maybe, just maybe, He is punishing us?

While Rush is an interesting political commentator, he is biblically illiterate and should avoid any discussion of theology, religious organizations, faith beliefs, etc.

God always used other godless nations to punish Israel when they were in sin. Falwell is right on.

I would ask who is monitoring religious broadcasts?
Could it be that the anti-religious bigots are trying to find anti-religious ammunition?
The anti-religious bigots are only trying to distract people from the real issues.
They want to prove that words and comments made by Christians are just as intolerant as Arab Muslims killing thousands of people.
This whole issue is a distraction by the anti-religious left who are out to delegitimize Christianity.

Bear in mind that Rush Limbaugh has said that he does not believe the Book of Revelation belongs in the Bible.
Unfortunately for such skeptics, the Apostle John, who witnessed the death, burial and resurrection of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, wrote it down on the Isle of Patmos around 90 A.D. as a direct revelation from Christ Himself.
That said, I understand the sentiment against Falwell and Robertson. They are only pale and illegitimate imitations of the Old Testament prophets, but always remember that the OT prophets also were roundly condemned and castigated by the ancient Israelites to whom they were preaching.
It is only after their predictions started coming true that their "insane babblings" were accepted as Scripture.

You are the kind of person who has just a little bit too much trouble figuring things out.
Does your God really pick out 5000 people at random and murder them to avenge the dealth of the unborn?
Or maybe you are trying to avoid the painful, for you, realization that your heroes, Falwell and Robertson, are idiots.

Now is the time to work together, not point fingers at one another.

If God is punishing us, it is by putting men like Falwell and women like the Big-Pink-Haired Lady on TV to represent, Christianity.

There are Godless conservatives (oxymoron alert) on this Free Republic website. I wish they would start believing in God and go to a good conservative church. Then they would be real conservatives. That is the problem with Rush, ie, he does not attend church.

Maybe God is ticked at all the self-righteous windbags who dare use His name to earn a buck.

If God was angry at all them to the point of resorting to violence, then he must have very bad aim.
EVERYONE is a sinner, and ALL of us need to look at OURSELVES and see where improvements can be made. Blaming others does no good whatsoever.
God removes his protecting hand when a nation AS A WHOLE turns it's back on Him, not just because of a few loudmouth sinners.

I never said that Falwell and Robertson were wise in their proclamations. My comment was about Rush - the subject of the post.
Thanks for avoiding the name-calling that so often shows up on FR.
