Interesting that you would rather think that God has so little interest and so little love for this nation that He would let Satan kill 5,000 "innocent "people and do nothing to intervene

Yet you find it hard to believe that God could have caused it or allowed it to bring you to your knees..

So did God cause it, or did Satan cause it?

Your statements above make no sense.

Could God have allowed Satan to cause it?

Satan is constantly begging God for permission to wreak havoc. Sometimes God says yes.

You can usually pick these nuts out of the crowd when they quote the OT exclusively, without mention of the NT. It's like quoting the Articles of Confederation while talking about the Constitution.

God sent his only son to die for our sins, so that we who believe in him shall have everlasting life. God doesn't punish nations anymore, he looks in to the hearts of men. If God is judging me not on my faith, but on what country I live in then all four Gospels are lying about how to get to heaven.

NO sink don't you get it... God and Satan are playing tag-team with the planet Jesus purchased with His own blood... and then saved eternally through HIS vicarious death and suffering. You see, in their book Jesus MAY have been wounded for our transgressions, but God the Father wants to do it some more. < /sarcasm>

And since the Holy Spirit (who was supposed to reprove us of sin whenever we fail) has apparently fallen asleep at the helm, God has hired the devil to fill in for Him too. In their book, somehow they twist it to where Jesus did not pay for the sins of our world fully on the Cross, and the Holy Spirit is incapable of doing his "convince and convict the whole world of its sins," job... so Satan needs to be enlisted?

God would LOVE to redeem mankind, but has to resort to allowing the Devil's tactics, to "seek and to save" that which is lost? I DON'T THINK SO!!

More and more, they sound like osami-to-me-a. Merciful Christ!!! Please forgive us for attributing YOUR works to Satan, and vice versa. Jesus saved thousands this week through the acts of wonderful heros. He saved our capitol through the heroism of a handful of citizen soldiers. That was God's work... and it was diametrically opposed to the works of darkness in progress. Light and darkness, according to scripture have no fellowship and Christ has NO concord (agreement, cooperation, or integration of work) with Belial (AKA: Satan, the Devil, that old Serpent).

That folks would substitute and confuse the acts of Belial, with the providence and will of God, shows that Satan has done a pretty good job of demonstrating to the World, that at least to these alleged believers, he is partner and shareholder in the Sovereignty of the Almighty... BLASPHEMY. We need God to save us from this crowd before they go whacko on the rest of us.

People who attribute evil to God, are cultic extremists. We need to reprove their gospel of hatred. YOU keep the faith. You are right.
