Japanese AMericans had to be sent to camps

Japanese Americans were sent to camps for the same reason you want to rid America of Muslims, racism. Why weren't German Americans sent to camps? When you start to trash the Constitution for any Americans, be ready to give up your own rights, they'll be next.

UMMMM....I THINK Japanese were sent to camps because you could tell a Japanese from others.....you can't tell Germans from English, etc. very well....PLUS....in some cases they were sent there for their own protection (yes there were people very ANGRY after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and probably threatening the Japanese.) Did SOME Japanese get treated badly? YES. Did most Japanese get treated humanely? YES. By the way, the Japanese in internment camps didn't end up the way my husband's Uncle did.....Dead in England after battling in the sky. What did his family get for that? His dog tag.

Japanese Americans were sent to camps by the Democrats. They were very patriotic and their sons enlisted in the military.

I haven't heard the same type of support and patriotism from the American Muslem population. I hope they do come out with one voice condemning the terrorists. But I haven't heard it yet.

I don't want any legal cititzen of this country detained and sent anywhere. For any reason. That being said, the killers who attacked this country practice open discrimination. If you are not like them you die. Think about that!

Your reading of the history of WWII was obviously done half-fast, parrot.

Many enemy aliens,and some foreign-ancestoried citizens, not just Japanese, were interned: Germans, Italians, and perhaps the odd Russian or two, before the commies switched sides. Not just in California, either. And of course, every enemy alien had to register, and they were tracked rather carefully. Just as we ought to be doing to the friendly and peaceful sons of Mohammed amongst us who are not citizens.

Were there racist overtones to the internment of West Coast Japanese? You betcha, bro. But it certainly wasn't the main reason.

Was it a bad idea? Sure was. It wasn't the first of many, but typical of what a fellow named Earl Warren foisted on the USA over a 30-year career of judicial mischief-making.
