Freepers or anyone else who engage in bigoted attacks agains Arab Americans or innocent Muslims in this country are engaging in seditious conduct. By stirring up internal division and animosity they are helping the enemy.
Some of us need to grow up, some need to shut up, and more need to speak up.

Zook, you are doing a liberal job of trying to devide us. Sorry but your post is out of place. If I see an Arab looking fellow in my small town/area, I am going to study them, look for abnormalities, see what they drive, look at licience plate, and I don't care what they think about it. This is my America too buddy, and I care strongly about it. Most likely they will be totally legit, but I will not be cowed into hiding under a rock with my eyes closed and my instincts muffled. Save your PC crap for some other day. This is WAR, don't you get it.

Half of all the Muslims in the U.S. are African Americans. I fear that many of them convert to Islam because of its message. Also, quite fashionable.

It was probably a PANIC No kidding, kind of like now? Just because some (not most) of the Japanese got their property back doesn't make it right. There were German u-boats off the east coast also and nobody rounded them up.

What if someone smoked a cigarette inside a no smoking building? Wonder if any of some of these posters would care? Or would they profile them as killers?

No. One is allowed to mock the French as well as Maxine Waters. I believe it should be mandatory. In fact, I had better not see you posting anything on this forum without an insult to the french and Maxine Waters included in your post. I am watching.....;^)

You are simply mistaken, goodnesswins. There was no military or other justification for interning American citizens simply because they looked different. Blaming war hysteria, while convenient, is no excuse.
Interning our own citizens, who proved their loyalty hundreds of times over when they formed their own combat teams (the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, formed entirely of Japanese Americans, is the most decorated military unit on a per capita basis in American history), was against all of the principles of this country. Principles which we were fighting for in WWII, and in this war as well.

We're all trying to process our anger and outrage. This forum is a catharsis for many, and people will say things in their angst they ordinarily wouldn't. Don't make any judgements about Free Republic or the people here from comments over the past 5 days. We need to vent.

I DID NOT say it was RIGHT!!!!!!! I know about the Japanese Regiment. Interment HAPPENED....and hopefully we've learned from it....but saying we should not be very aware of who is around us based upon their race is idiotic....

History reveals we interned individuals with Japanese, Italian and German backgrounds, during WWII. Among them were found to be several dangerous enemies. Why wouldn't we likewise consider same, now? There was virtually no danger from the Americans of Japanese, German or Italian ancestry. In fact one of the most decorated US Army units of WWII was the 442 RCT which was composed primarily of Japanese-Americans. The dangerous enemies of whom you speak were first-generation non-citizens with loyalties to their "homeland".
I expect a similar reaction from Arab(or Islamic)-Americans today. However, the only ones who should be interned are the foreign nationals who are not US citizens.

Singling out law abiding Americans and taking away their rights of due process and equal protection is wrong. Amen. I fear that more than I do terrorists.

I'm with you, Zook. Appreciate the post.

OK, thanks for clarifying that. And I'm certainly not saying we should ignore race or religion when profiling suspects, either...it's obviously a relevant data point, considering how probably 95% of Bin Laden's followers are Arabic and 100% are Muslim.

Now is a time for this country to be united for one cause: The total and complete destruction of the United States of Islam - this concept cannot be allowed to become reality. Their 100 year war has begun and are only choice we have is to win - and not a symbolic victory but a complete and total solution to the tyranny and slavery that is upon us.
This war is not about right and wrong but purely about the USA protecting our way of life and freedoms!
I am not against free speech but now is not the time to try to place blame for where we are but to come together work as one global force to eliminate this scurge from the planet.
We need to respond with an un-measurable force executed with extreme prejudice against our foe!
