Freepers or anyone else who engage in bigoted attacks agains Arab Americans or innocent Muslims in this country are engaging in seditious conduct. By stirring up internal division and animosity they are helping the enemy.

Some of us need to grow up, some need to shut up, and more need to speak up.

Another angle to this: Our leaders and military strategists have said we cannot alienate the world's moderate Muslim community, in our pursuit of these terrorists. We can and will use their help to track down these people. The Northern Alliance in Afghanistan, with an army of 15,000 and reservists of an additional 15,000 have offered their support, as had Pakistan. These are key players in smoking out these people, with long term stakes in keeping on good terms with the U.S.

Thus I agree with the posts title and it is in line with the President's strategy. Let's not shoot ourselves in the feet!

Your reading of the history of WWII was obviously done half-fast, parrot.

Many enemy aliens,and some foreign-ancestoried citizens, not just Japanese, were interned: Germans, Italians, and perhaps the odd Russian or two, before the commies switched sides. Not just in California, either. And of course, every enemy alien had to register, and they were tracked rather carefully. Just as we ought to be doing to the friendly and peaceful sons of Mohammed amongst us who are not citizens.

Were there racist overtones to the internment of West Coast Japanese? You betcha, bro. But it certainly wasn't the main reason.

Was it a bad idea? Sure was. It wasn't the first of many, but typical of what a fellow named Earl Warren foisted on the USA over a 30-year career of judicial mischief-making.
