I'm curious. Have any of you islamic yeehaaders ever read the Koran? I find it a nearly incomprehensible collection of repetitive phrases that contradicts itself every other page. Most scholars agree.

And I'm sure you read the Koran with a completely open mind.

Perhaps you could enlighten us as to why a religion based on the supposed writings of a prophet whose main purpose seemed to be killing all of his opponents (unlike Christ who died for his opponents) is worthy of much respect.

Ever read the Old Testament? Seems I remember a lot of God-sponsored killing going on there. Who was the the God of the Old Testament, anyway? Allah?

Yes it would appear tha Ann was being self-serving. But if you knew her better, as a longtime reader, you would know that she needed to say that because it was truth that she could not hide. Her longtime readers and fans understand. Now I hope you do too.

I love Barbara Olson and I love Ann. In this column Ann expresses concisely how we all feeling about the lost of Barbara. This is a great evil that has come upon our land…but it is also possible to bring greater evil into the world if caution and patience is not exercised in redressing this diabolical threat. There is no doubt that we are at war, but we don’t have to wage the war that bin Laden wants. He wants a crusade against him…and he may get it…but I would argue for some initial responses which would actually be more harmful to him and his cause. I’m a graduate student of Middle East history who spent last year on a fellowship to Israel. I’m not claiming this makes me an expert on what has gone on, but I do think I can offer some legitimate arguments for exercising some patience.

I have to concur with Ann. Hiroshima stopped the war and Japan became our friends. Besides saving alot of lives that would have been lost if we dealt with them weakly. Evil must be dealt with swiftly and decisively. They cannot stop themselves. Many nations 'converted' to Christianity, not because someone held a gun to their heads but because reality has that effect on people. Look at all the Americans suddenly going to church, suddenly asking questions they never would have asked before. Look at Dan Rather last nite!! (By the way, I don't belong to a church. Truth is my church and my path to God). Is free speech the first liberty to fall in this war?

It's silly to take Coulter literally. It was irony and hyperbole...unless observors deliberately refuse to understand, to enhance their air of victimhood.

Coulter could as easily have said, "Bomb them, kill them, then force them through bar mitzvah." The idea's the same--kill them, then seriously annoy them.
