Appalling response to terror making it in Massachusetts

by Howie Carr

Sunday, September 16, 2001

Back in 1972, after we were the only state in the union to vote for George McGovern over Richard Nixon, a famous bumper sticker appeared: Don't Blame Me, I'm From Massachusetts.

Now we need a new version: Blame Me, I'm From Massachusetts.

Really, isn't it embarrassing to watch the way so many of the Beautiful People from Massachusetts have conducted themselves since Tuesday?

When exactly did we corner the market on horse's asses? It's not just the Taliban Twins in the congressional delegation - Osama bin Meehan and Richie ``the Sheik'' Neal.

What about the thousands of marijuana-addled burnouts at yesterday's ``HempFest'' on the Common? Forget the security angle - maybe history will show that we are overreacting, that there was no real and present danger of a biological or nuclear strike from these savages.

But what about some simple common decency? The bodies of most of the victims haven't even been recovered, and these latter-day hippies are partying, getting stoned in public. Have they at long last no sense of shame?

Speaking of no shame, there's the Amherst board of selectmen - excuse me, the Selectboard, as they say in the People's Republic. The night before the sneak attack, they restricted the waving of Old Glory on Main Street utility poles to six days a year.

The vote was 4-1. The lone dissenter wanted to allow the flag to be flown only one day a year.

I say God bless the handful of patriots who liberated the flags Tuesday morning from the box they'd been dumped in at the DPW. Just after the savage attack, a few American citizens put the flags back up on Main Street, in open defiance of Town Hall.

Finally we come to the congressional collaborators, Osama bin Meehan and Richie the Sheik. First Richie. Who knew he could even talk? The last time I remember him speaking was when he called his local newspaper to deny that he had impregnated one of his aides.

As for Maaaaahty, well, he has this habit of developing teenage-girl-like crushes on more powerful alpha males.

First it was Paul Sheehy - Marty even visited the solon after he went to prison for bank fraud. Then he attached himself to Bob Kraft, and later Bill Clinton. But . . . Osama bin Laden?

So Marty is quoted as saying that it was ``spin'' and ``PR'' for President Bush to claim Air Force One was a target.

I asked Maaaaahty Friday, was the Capitol evacuated Thursday night because of a bomb scare?

``Yes,'' he said.

Did you evacuate?

``Yes.''

Was that spin and PR?

No answer, obviously, except to say that his statement was ``taken out of context.''

As appalling as Martin T. (for Taliban) Meehan's slur of the commander-in-chief was, what's even sicker is the nostalgia both he and the Sheik seem to feel for Bill Clinton, the war hero.

Apparently Marty's forgotten how his idol handled the last bunch of bloodthirsty terrorists who tried to bring New York to its knees. He pardoned them - to win Puerto Rican votes for his horrible wife. Then, as his administration expired, Clinton pardoned multiple money-launderers for our Mideast foes after one of their buxom wives funneled cash to Clinton's ``library.''

As for Clinton, did you see him Thursday night at the Armory, groping young female survivors, kissing them in a very touchy-feely way, emphasis on feely. Then Friday, at the National Cathedral, he gave Bill Cohen's wife, Janet Langhart, a hug, in a Kathleen Willey-like fashion, feeling her pain and perhaps other parts of her anatomy as well.

Memo to Marty and the Sheik: believe it or not, most of your constituents don't listen to NPR, they don't want to free cop-killer Mumia, and they didn't cheer when the Arabs murdered thousands of their fellow citizens in the greatest hate crime in American history.

God save the commonwealth of Massachusetts.

There are now some reports that the Pentagon plane was intended to intercept Air Force on landing at Andrews AFB bringing Bush back from Florida, supposedly derived from cellphone or radio transmissions from the doomed plane. The yahoo Meehan and others were probably trying out a democrat talking point, but pulled back when confronted with a huge negative reaction.

What a sad commentary about a state that once figured prominently in the establishment of freedom and patriotism. My heart goes out to the few conservatives who live in such a deluded, socialist climate.

Is there not tar in Massachusetts? Have feathers been blown away? Does not the state have wooden rails and a beautiful harbor? America can walk and chew gum at the same time.

I live in Connecticut and it's pretty bad for Constitutionalists, Massachusetts is a hundred times worse. It's referred to as the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts and nothing to left of Trotsky is far enough out for MA. From firearms to taxes to animal rights it's an east coast Berkely. The worst part is Cambridge. I can't do it justice, you have to see it for yourself.

Sad to say ... Richard Neal is MY congressman.

Heres my letter to the editor of the Springfield newspaper:

Dear Editor

So Massachusetts Congressmen Richard Neal and Marty Meehan think it appropriate to criticize the President in the midst of one of the greatest crisis ever to face our country? Gee, what a couple of patriots.

They'd be well served to remember that it is best to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool, then to open it and remove all doubt.

The current people of MassHoleChewzit are the direct decendants of the Loyalist during the revolutionary war. Most all patriots are long gone from this hell hole that they call a state.

I urge everyone after this is over to boycott MassHoleChewzit, Berkely, and any other pockets of Anti-Americanism within our borders.

My Aunt and Uncle are currently relocating to Massachusetts...we TRIED to warn them! :)
I'd LIKE to think that they can change a few minds there, but this article makes me wonder.

Don't forget, Harvard University (home of the Harvard Crimson newspaper that called for a Vietcong victory from the safety of its wealthy student editors' draft deferments) accepted a $2 million gift from Osama Bin Laden's brother to establish a chair of Islamic Studies, just as Yale rejected a $20 million grant from the Bass family for Western Civilization (can't offend uncivilized people, of course). Is there no depth to which these Ivy League cookiepushers and buttkissers will sink?

I used to love visiting New England because of its sense of history and the sheer beauty of the region. Regrettably, I find it very unappealing any more because of the eroding nature of its politics. Our founding fathers would be appalled.

This war has been going on for years. It was declared years ago by Islamic fundamentalist and terrorist. We just didn't listen. Meantime, Harvard, Berkley, Cambridge and other anti-Western pockets in America have been aiding and abetting, albeit in a tangential way, our sworn enemy the whole time that they planned and executed this horrible act.

Let us put these people and places on our short list when the War is over. In the meantime, let us steer whom ever we can, back in the RIGHT direction. If there is any fairness in the people of MassHoleChewzit and Kalifornia, they will turn hard right, and reject the idiocy that they have been regurgitating for so long.

How galling....this from the state from which two planeloads of terrorists evaded airport security, entered US airspace and attacked New York. Perhaps rather than question the threat, Mr. Meehan and others should concentrate on beefing up security (as should have been their primary purpose BEFORE this happened).

The Meehan and Neal comments were despicable. These fellas have so little to offer that they have to resort to partisan criticism even in the most tragic of times. I know that their e-mail, FAX, and phone lines were burning.
