you are forgetting that there are two covenants in the Bible, the old and the new. The bloodletting was when the world was barbaric and God's people were sent out to build his church. Mice can't live with Wolves, mind you!
When Jesus paid the ultimate price for our salvation, you will find that there is no bloodletting other than all the martyr's that gave up their lives in a continually pagan world.
Then, thanks to Constantine, Christianity became the persecutor rather than the Persecuted ..... and then we really started to screw up! (but that's not in the bible)
