Posted on 09/15/2001 2:52:56 PM PDT by OKCSubmariner
NBCs Kerry Sanders reported late Friday that U.S. officials were investigating a letter sent anonymously to a radio station in the Cayman Islands on Aug. 29.
The letter said the writer was convinced that three Afghan men who he said entered the islands illegally were agents of bin Laden and were organizing a major terrorist attack against the United States via an airline or airlines.
The radio station forwarded the letter to Cayman Islands officials on Sept. 6. It was treated merely as speculation, however, until the terrorist strikes five days later. Sanders reported that authorities had since identified and interviewed the writer and that three Afghan men were being held in the Cayman Islands on immigration charges.
"INQUIRIES IN CAYMAN ISLANDS"
Last night NBC News (about 8 pm CST-I personally watched this story)reported that three suspects were in custody in the Cayman islands connected to the WTC attacks on 9/11/01. NBC News showed a letter dated 9/6/01 and sent to Caymen authorities that was also sent to US authorities before 9/11 that detailed plans related to the WTC attacks and gave details about the three men that are now under arrest in the Cayman Islands. This is an indication of more US forewarning and foreknowledge.

David Shippers Speaks Out!!
Posted on 09/13/2001 17:07:20 PDT by DataPro01
David Shippers, former House legal counsel for the impeachment investigation and author of Sell Out, was interviewed by Quinn on his radio show this AM. Shippers had some very interesting things to say....some examples, Shippers claims that he contacted the Justice Dept weeks agon with warnings that a large terrorist strike involving southern Manhattan was imimnent. He was ignored. He also states that our best Middle Eastern terrorist expert, an FBI agent, has yet to be consulted. Essentially, Shippers is stating that when all is said and done the American public will find that the authorities had lots of information on a potential strike yet did nothing...and that the quick arrests are because of this fact...and the brave actions of flight attendants who phoned in the seat numbers of the terrorists before they were killed. I think this information needs to be heard and discussed...and have been urging national news shows to interview Shippers ASAP. Shippers interview with Quinn can be heard archived at www.warroom.com/archives the Wed 9/12 show.

This article was originally entiteles "Bin Laden suspect transferred from Minnesota jail" A former TV reporter in OKC who worked on the OKC bombing case thinks this guy was involved in the OKC bombing with McVeigh. This guy lived near OKC and was attending a flight school in Norman near OKC. BBC (story posted on FR: "FBI 'Ignores Leads'")reported that the French gave US authorities details about this guy over a month ago that suggested the plot on the WTC. The French are upset there info was not taken more seriously by FBI to avert the WTC attacks since many Europerans were also killed. Minneapolis TV station KARE11.com has more details.
I am sure you have read this but if not, check this out.
One thing's for sure some spook was intimatly involved!
Please use your contacts with Fed law enforcement and in the Bush administration to start working immediately on getting the FBI/CIA to pass on more info like this to local local law enforcement as soon as possible.
Half of fixing a problem is knowing what the problem is- and now we know one of the problems and it is fixable.
Please help shore up our defenses within the US by getting more cooperation and free flow of info between local and Fed law enforcement. Even use some of you contacts in the military, the Wash Navy Yard, the State Dept, the Congressional Intell committtees, etc. to get this addressed as quickly as possible.
Sooner or later the FBI and CIA and Congress are going to start realizing that by cooperating more with local law enforcement they will also protect themselves better and in the process might start protecting us better too.
What I am trying to say is that the sooner the FBI and CIA and Congress realize that they are not immune from this (it is literally on their doorstep and will come to THEIR houses and affect THEIR wives and children) maybe they will start getting their butts in gear for once to help protect all of us.
If they remain smug and arrogant and never accept constructive criticism and start making the proper and needed internal changes, they will not only doom us but they will doom themselves. You need to make them realize this NOW, Please.
This guy lived near OKC and was attending a flight school inUh - huh.
Why am I not surprised ...
a letter sent anonymously to a radio station in the Cayman Islands
How many such letters are received by radio stations on a regular basis then forwarded to Cayman Islands officials - - enough to cause them to treat such letters suspiciously?
Probably dozens ... meaning this is rivero class material ...
My understanding is that this partucular radio station conducts several 'Art Bell' types shows - and this sounds like a listener participating in that brand of lunacy ...
What do you think?
Was the failure to act on this information or at the very least to inform airline pilots of the threat, was this incompetence or something else, or is it too early to answer the question?
