Barbara Olson's soul sparkled through every time I saw her on tv. We are sad. We have lost thousnads just like her. Murdered.
To: Lazamataz
Under His wings I am safely abiding,
Though the night deepens and tempests are wild,
Still I can trust Him; I know He will keep me,
He has redeemed me, and I am His child.
Under His wings, under His wings,
Who from His love can sever?
Under His wings my soul shall abide,
Safely abide forever.
Under His wings, what a refuge in sorrow!
How the heart yearningly turns to His rest!
Often when earth has no balm for my healing,
There I find comfort, and there I am blessed.
Under His wings, oh, what precious enjoyment!
There will I hide till lifes trials are oer;
Sheltered, protected, no evil can harm me,
Resting in Jesus, Im safe evermore.

It was very nice. Very moving.
May she rest in peace.

Singing
Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling
Softly and Tenderly
Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me;
See, on the portals He's waiting and watching,
Watching for you and for me.
Come home, come home,
Ye who are weary come home;
Earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!
Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies,
Mercies for you and for me?
Come home, come home,
Ye who are weary come home;
Earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!
Time is now fleeting the moment is passing,
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, death's night is coming,
Coming for you and for me.
Come home, come home,
Ye who are weary come home;
Earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!
O for the wonderful love He has promised,
Promised for you and for me;
Thou we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon,
Pardon for you and for me.
Come home, come home,
Ye who are weary come home;
Earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

This is the part of the Mass where Holy Communion is distributed. More than likely, FOX felt that would be boring - though, this is where some of the most beautiful liturgical music is sung! Hopefully, they will resume in a few minutes.
Barbara Olson was a hero! In her last phone conversation from on board that plane, minutes from death, she asked Ted what she should say to the pilots. She put the concerns of others before herself. A true patriot!

The following is from a letter I sent my family the night of the terrorist attack.
"Two or three days ago, I happened to see Mrs. Olson on a viewer call-in show on C-Span. She was the conservative, and Bill Press was the liberal. A Democrat called in just to tell Mrs. Olson what an evil person she (Mrs. Olson) was. She went on and on about how hateful Mrs. Olson was, calling her Satanic, and saying things like 'I can see the Devil in your face'. It was at least as crude and venomous as anything I've ever heard said to anyone on TV. Mrs. Olson responded quietly and courteously about how she (Mrs. Olson) was expressing her political opinions and Bill Press was expressing his, and the two of them certainly didn't hate each other, and this sort of public debate on the issues was one of the great things about democracy."
I'll miss her, and I surely feel sorry for her poor husband.

I do not think I have ever seen an Orthodox service. I was Southern Baptist for years and years, but they have changed over the years. The fundamentalist goobers seem to be in charge and I wouldn't be surprised to see the SBC splinter apart and about half of 'em become Methodists or Episcopalians.
But all the Prostestant types I have ever seen seem to have a disdain for beauty and art. I guess they must think it sinful or something. They also seem scared of rituals, which I think are good for structure and continuity of the religious community.

Yes we have. We lost a lot of good and wonderful people who were so much a part of the lives of their families, their communities and this country and that had been all brutally ripped away in a savage act of evil. We will never ever forget them though. Their memory will always be with us for a blessing and they have brought out the best in us as a people and have reminded us all why despite our human imperfections and failings we are privileged to live in the greatest country in all of human history. Let that be our memorial to Barbara Olson and all those who were murdered and can no longer be with us today. And may they watch over our country as our guardian angels.

The Responsorial -- We sang "Shepherd me, O God, beyond my wants, beyond my fears, from death into life ... " at my Mom's Funeral Mass just a month ago.
At a Catholic Funeral, the eulogy/s follow the Celebration of the Eucharist -- so Justice Thomas will speak then.
COME, parsifal, COME!

That C-Span appearance was the last time I saw her also. She was gracious and lovely. Good-bye, beautiful Lady, you will be sorely missed.

"Very sad, crying... " DITTO!
Makes all the inconvenience of being stuck, first in San Diego, and now Las Vegas, seem inconsequential. A very fine service.
Barbara was a true patriot and a fine human being.

I appreciate your opinion & know a bit of why you feel this way....however, keep looking for those of us "protestants" who stand by Bible teaching & because of it, love art and everything good the Creator has wrought in us.

I believe it was only a few days before on FOX that I saw her in a debate with a liberal who made a comment on how no one doubts where she stands with the moral attitude she holds or something to that effect. It was a deliberate attempt to try and put her down by labeling her as some sort of neurotic religious right winger. She graciously responded in a controlled and calmed manner and continued to debate and convey her message on the Condit issue. I was struct with her capability of handling herself with such professionlism. God had her in his scope of life and let us witness what is good...Thankyou Lord!
To: Lazamataz
Oh, how I loved to watch her take on those lefties ...they were never any match for her....so intelligent..pretty...witty..logical..We could fill a page with the adjectives...She will be sadly missed...
