I've just read some parts of the Koran in light of this attack, and jihad is a bit more complicated than this, though there seem to be some valid reasons to think Muhammed and his original Muslim followers relied on violence and violent threats against Christians and Jews, not to mention other people. Islam, of course, presents an erroneous, immoral worldview, which, I think, can lead to such things as an Osama and the Palestinian Intifada. But, we have more to fear from the political and religious left and the national news media in this world, not to mention our public schools, than we do from the average American Muslim or American of Arabic and Persian descent.
