Sorry, Falwell and Robertson are just FLAKES. They are full of that new-age "evangelical 'Christian'" gobbledy-goop that sells subscriptions for televangelists, and they can't get out of character.

Their sweeping comments about Islam are nauseating. I have no more or less respect for Islam than I do for Judaism or other sects of Christianity than my own. I believe what I believe, but I do NOT tell others what THEY believe.

This was disgraceful. Falwell and Robertson are simply the other side of the Taliban coin.

Let me see if I got this right. Ben Laden himself has told Western reporters that the reason he hates the West is because of the decadence we spew into the world. Pronography, homosexuality, corruption of all kinds. Our own Bible asks us not to live that way. In fact He demands we not live that way.

Ben Laden sponsors a mission to destroy Lower Manhattan and kill thousands of Americans. Our clerics point out that this act is a Judgement of God, and you have trouble making the connection???? As Earl Pitts would say, "Wake up...".

Yes, his comments were out of line on that program. He has, however, expressed a lifetime of righteous comments for which I give him credit.

Stop letting your hatred of religion show. It is not the Taliban. I have challenged those who hate the so-called "religious right" to show me what they have done to control their lives. What legislation have they gotten passed?

On the other hand, look what their enemies have done. They are destroying the Scouts. We can't even have a moment of silence in schools. There cannot be a recognition of God at a graduation.

You tell me who is more dangerous. Jerry Falwell or the radical gays, radical secularists and radical leftists who have been systematically destroying our institutions.

I agree and am growing weary of both Robertson and Falwell saying something..and apologizing the next day. Remember when Robertson made an argument For abortion in China? So much for having the courage of one's convictions.

I have never had much animus for Falwell (Robertson is more vomit bait for me), but it is sobering that he talks one way before one kind of audience, where he lets it all hang out, and in a more sanitized way before a more general audience. I of course don't see him on a 700 Club broadcast. I see him as a panelist on Fox News or whatever, where is he quite palatable usually. It does seem that this tragedy is creating an irresistible temptation for folks to come out of the closet with their most honest beliefs. I guess that is a good thing by and large.

The term you're groping for is "gobbledegook" not "gobbledy goop". Falwell's Christian philosophy isn't either, unless this weird term you made up doesn't mean the same as the one I just gave you.
