Anger Directed Against U.S. Muslims Of Middle East Origin Must Stop
Toogood Reports ^ | September 14-16, 2001 | Dorothy Anne Seese

Posted on 09/14/2001 1:52:43 PM PDT by Starmaker

The sad stories of misdirected anger, bigotry and backlash aimed at Muslims who are American citizens is emerging in the news already. Since the U.S. government has not officially made any declaration of war, some Americans are venting their frustrations at the Muslims who have peacefully lived here for years and are American citizens.

This type of bigotry and misdirected lust for revenge has to stop!

Yes, I have to admit the government is slow. The intelligence arm of the government was either badly directed or severely limited in its efforts to collect intelligence on terrorists and their planned activities.

That is absolutely no excuse for American citizens of any non-Middle East ancestry to strike out in vengeance against Muslims or Arab-Americans who have no guilt with respect to what occurred at the World Trade Center or the Pentagon, or on the commercial airliners.

Terrorists are no one ethnicity. Hitler's terrorists were Germans, Europeans, "whites" or "Aryans". I remember Hitler. I remember how relieved this nation was when he died. A brutal murderous maniac had been silenced forever, but his memory and his deeds are not yet forgotten.

Because I love animals, I cried at the stories of how frustrated American citizens tortured little dachshund dogs and puppies because of their German name. How brutal, how monstrous, how cruel could our own people get? This is almost sixty years ago, and I still remember!

Now I am going to ask again, since I have just had a conversation with an out-of-state friend about anti-Muslim acts of individual revenge ... brutal beatings ... in his midwest city. He is a minister, and we discussed what was both G-dly and American, and it was my suggestion that he just preach it! We are to let our government take action against the terrorists. If we think our government can't do the job, then we need not think we as individuals can.

All we can do is reinforce the world's attitude that we're Ugly Americans.

Those who are sympathetic to us now because of our suffering might well decide, if our personal acts of revenge against innocent Muslims continues, that we deserved the WTC bombings. We don't need that.

Vigilante attacks ... thug attacks ... on innocent men, women and children simply because they're of Middle Eastern origin is senseless, brutal, stupid, inhuman and demonic.

As I began writing this article, I heard an Arizona woman tell a talk show host on radio that "all Arabs should go home." Lady, if they're born in America, this is their home! The same goes for Blacks, Mexicans, Cubans, Asians and any other ethnic group born into or naturalized as a United States citizen.

I realize our people are angry. The measure of our honor, virtue, worth and unity as a nation is in how we respond to the terrorists, and taking out frustrated anger on innocent people is SIN.

We've been condemning the Afghanis for their treatment of western Christians. Are we any better if we do the same thing here out of anger?

The only way to get rid of terrorists is to condemn all terrorist acts and avoid any of our own against those living here on our own soil. We can't condemn others if we intend to become as guilty as the terrorists from abroad. Even if it turns out that a half dozen or a dozen of the terrorists were American citizens, remember this: some of our worst spies have been Anglo-Americans!

Americans, shape up and demand that the government do "whatever it takes" to take out terrorists. And stop the bigotry. Stop the vigilante vengeance. Stop the beatings and threats against the innocents. Stop it now.

If you bigots want to see America under martial law, you're well on the way to bringing it about. I want to remain free, and increase our freedoms, but only law-abiding citizens who believe in constitutional freedom have any claim to it.

Stop this senseless bigotry and hate—PLEASE.

Not so fast. It all depends on who and where their loyalty is to.

Listen, what the hell is wrong with these people that for years there own have been acting this way and I have yet to hear muslims and arabs condem their own. It's the same as the black community when it comes to fatherless homes, until and unless these groups stand up to bad apples and criticize their own then they deserve what happens. Now I am mad as are millions of Americans and I'm not going to take it anymore............

Joe, come on. How many Muslems have heard you slam Tim McVeigh? Couldn't they say the same thing about all whites? They say things privately just like you and I do.

That comment smacks of McCarthyism. How are we supposed to test loyalties?

No kidding. There are a bunch of people that are US citizens that should be shown the door too.

Like it or not, the Muslim threat is internal, not external. There are entire neighborhoods of "muslim-Americans" that harbor, recruit, and train these terrorists right here in the U.S.

U.S. Muslims of Middle East Origin Must give up the RADICAL Islamists that attend their Mosques. Their silence brings this upon them.

And shuria law directed against Afghani Christians of any origin must stop.

When the U.S. government imprisons people and hands down the death penalty for merely being Islamic, then I'll worry about it. Do we really think that is happening? Hurt feelings are the least of our worries today, and that is what this bleat is ultimately all about. We have had eight years of seeing the Constitution used to wipe 'rat sphincters, and I'm not pleased to see people of any stripe use it to wrap red herrings (or any other fish, for that matter).

It was reported this morning on newstalk radio that three doctors at the Cleveland Clinic were cheering in the halls when they learned the news. They were subsequently arrested. This validity of the story was questioned and the accuracy confirmed by callers.

My good friend who is Muslim says she and her community are appalled at what is happening. She says she'll try to make it to our Condit freep tomorrow in Modesto to show their patriotism and their solidarity with us. That's Saturday 9/15 "high noon" in Modesto CA (920 16th St.). For victory & freedom!!!

I think the patriotic pro-US Moslems should help us figure out which is which. It's clear by now there is a large group who hate the US but are living amidst us and using our freedom to exterminate us. I would not like to see the innocent abused in any way and US born Moslems are probably not that involved in this.

Ditto. If they are smart, they will make a special effort to distance themselves in any and all ways from terrorist-sympathizing/American-hating Arabs who are in this country.

you have a good point. there were actually factions within the ranks of the incarcerated Japanese Americans in Manzanar Camp, 1942, for example. The vast majority there took the US loyalty oath and in fact supported the defeat of the Emperor. However, a very, very small minority were for Imperial Japan. They separated the two in the camp. They got in fistfights. And the former group reported the latter (much smaller group) to the US govt. A similar act of patriotism might be called for at this time, to Arab-Americans.

But the redneck, blanket, shotgun (throw rocks at anyone looking Arab) approach is not going to work, I believe.
