I too called and asked if they were accurate and I too got the message, from a polite man that they were "taken out of context" and he proceeded to read me the full statement. I asked how the words reported were taken out of context, and he honestly answered "I really don't know".

I got the "taken-out-of-context" line too. I asked the staffer if she could possibly put it into context for me and she said she couldn't because she wasn't there.
