I brought that up to several people yesterday, and it seems that not many people were thinking that far ahead of Tuesday's atrocities.

It bears keeping in mind, and I'm sure the agents involved have been thinking about it.

I've been wondering how anyone could be so dumb.

The only explanation that makes any sense is that they probably screwed up on Tuesday and would rather face a lifetime in a US prison rather than go back and admit to Bin Laden that they failed.
