nothing follows. ... except a whole bunch of falling bombs.
I say that every physical asset that can be tied to bin Laden should be bombed as well. Make it impossible for his followers to have access to the money generated by his holdings.

What I still don't understand is, how do you get this guy without being on the ground for a long period of time, all over the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia and Northern Africa? If we invade Afghanistan, he could just slip into Pakistan, shave his beard and take off his turban and slip into India via Kashmir.. and make his way to Malaysia/Indonesia. Or, he could just hide out in Karachi or Bombay.. no one would ever find him there, even with a sympathetic Indian government.

I anxiously await the appearance of a great smoking hole where Osama Bin Laden, and any of his Taliban supporters used to be.

So you think we ought to bomb Zurich, eh? That's really gonna require a coalition effort. LOL

According to the Mayor's office, theres a reported total of 4700 people missing. I assume this is all the poor familty members that you keep seeing on Tv holding up pictures of loved ones. However, the estimates reported last night by the NY-NJ Port Authority, is 20,000 dead in the buildings and another 10,000 dead in the surrounding areas. This includes the underground parking lots, subway system and mall areas.

They were apparently revised by one well-known poster here on this forum. People blabbing with no business to do so.
No one knows, as far as I know, yet there's a whole thread talking about 20-30-40 thousand! May be, but it is wrong to be throwing guesses around.
We have to, for great justice....

I'll put that in the DUH files.

I guess people are assuming that the buildings were full at 9:00am on a Tuesday morning. How long would it take to evacuate a tower with 25,000 people? If the airplane sliced right through the center and came out the other side, would the elevators still work or would you have to take the stairs down? How many people abreast can fit in a stairwell. After you get out, you still have to run for a few blocks to get away from the falling debris.
Those towers collapsed within a half hour of being hit. How many people could get out in that time?

It is not surprising that more people have died in the name of organized religion than any other single cause.

Does anyone seriously think nukes are on the table? Afghanistan is not the easiest place to get to on the ground. What are our options realistically? A small elite force to get bin Laden, bombing of strategic targets, and a longer term ground invasion? Also, do the reports of bin Laden having 20 nukes from the Chechens have any credibility?
