Declaring a state of war between the United States and international terrorists and their sponsors.
When we declared war after Pearl Harbor, "Japan" was a discrete entity that could formally surrender. "International terrorists" are not. What is the exit strategy? If we kill Bin Laden and have 2 years of relative peace, is the war over like WWII is, or are we comitting to a permanent war footing?

I don't want meanless house resolutions denouncing this attack, I don't want Colin Powell promising to bring these terrorists to trial, I want revenge, I demand revenge, retribution, retaliation. Nothing less is acceptable.

I hope this means that the US will stop supporting any of these groups. When it suits the West we work with these terrorists and legitimise them. For example and most recently, the KLA (UCK) in Kosovo which has known links to the mujahadeen and Bin Laden.

When we declared war after Pearl Harbor, "Japan" was a discrete entity that could formally surrender. "International terrorists" are not. What is the exit strategy? How about when any person in Afghanistan when asked, cowers into a corner peeing his pants, and saying with urgency "I am not a member of the Taliban"
Once we achieve that, we exit.
To: sendtoscott
The exit strategy will be the same as it was for the declaration of war against the Barbary Pirates. Kill them all, and then put reference to it in the Marines' Hymm.

I have to say that I would feel better if this declaration had support from the Dims.

not one dem ????? surprised ????? Nope, I'm not surprised. They (dems) go out before the cameras and say they are standing shoulder to shoulder, bipartisan. Then as soon as the cameras are gone they are fighting BUSH every step of the way. They do not want WAR they don't even like the WORD. The LIBERAL machine is at work, Peter Jennings, Katie Couric, Dan Rather, Andrea Mitchell, former Clinton employees. They are digging in deep and battling the White House all the way.
Not only does BUSH have to fight foreign terrorists, he has to fight AMERICAN socialists!

Who elected Barr President? We only have one President and we should be thankful it is President Bush rather than Clinton or Gore or Sharon.

How about when any person in Afghanistan when asked, cowers into a corner peeing his pants, and saying with urgency "I am not a member of the Taliban"
Then why not just declare war on Afghanistan?
