Declaration of war!

Some of us have grown hoarse warning that America has few friends left in the world. Has the destruction of the World Trade Center, the dismembered bodies strewn over the streets of New York, the rescuers who died trying to save the innocent, the attack on the Pentagon and the failed attempt to destroy the White House convinced you? Or will you await further evidence?
Has America's ruling elite become so corrupted with money and power and sex and greed that they are incapable of understanding that hatred is an even more powerful motivator? On Tuesday, America witnessed the naked face of Islamic hatred, as the World Trade Center towers were destroyed and the seat of democratic government attacked – all with the crumbling empire's own weapons.
It seems like everything we trusted in failed us: the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, the myriad of laws disarming citizens before they get on an airliner, and the – oh, yes – laws against slitting the throats of flight attendants and flying airliners into buildings filled with people going about their daily lives. Maybe our protectors were too busy chasing the spies in their own midst, or tallying the secrets sold by the Clinton administration, to know that something big was afoot? Or maybe Americans need to re-learn that the nanny state, first and foremost, takes care of itself, that freedom is a gift from the God of the Bible and that each generation is called upon to preserve that gift given at so tremendous a cost by those who went before?
Laws, you see, are one thing America's hot-air politicians – and the corporate CEOs who own them – excel at manufacturing these days. Congress is in the lawmaking business, and business is booming. But laws only work against a docile and cowed population – one whose values are limited to phony diversity, pandering in the name of profit, and scoundrels intent on eliminating real values – including faith in God, which offers the only protection there has been against tyranny and enslavement of both our own and future generations.
Does it surprise these people, I wonder, that there is a difference between the values as expressed by an Islamic terrorist state and a Christian nation? Or between those willing to die for their hatred – and airline executives who worship the almighty dollar and have resisted real security measures – because it might dent the CEOs multi-million dollar pay package? Maybe it's time for these CEOs to provide real leadership and donate their salaries and bonuses this year to the employee and passenger families of the victims who trusted in their malfeasance?
But, perhaps, I'm being too judgmental. Islamic societies like the Taliban have every right to hang Christian aid workers for spreading their faith – and to flog their women for venturing outside without a veil and a husband. It's all part of their cultural and religious heritage. After all – who are we to judge others? Pity our enemies don't share that same sentiment, isn't it?
Despite the West's failings, and they are many, we must recognize this attack for what it is: an act of war – and, we may be sure, only the first. We will either respond decisively and demonstrate that we believe our way of life is worth preserving – or we will let our appeasers roll out the red carpet and begin veiling our women, and we ourselves bowing down before our local mullah, asking how we, too, can die for Allah. The time has come for those who have bastardized Islam to pay the price in their own backyard.
Economic sanctions are a great diplomatic tool – but an act of war signals the end of diplomacy. As crippled as they are, America's intelligence services can still serve up a list of confirmed state-sponsored terrorist capitals. Congress owes it to the survivors of this blood-bath to silence its own traitorous panderers – and to deliver a declaration of war into the hands of the president of the United States against these terrorist capitals. The president then bears the responsibility to act decisively to preserve the Western way of life – a free political and economic system based on self-determination by a free people, which is Western Man's heritage since the Magna Carta. There can be no more cruise missile fireworks or talk of surgical strikes. Militant Islam is a cancer that has already destroyed the nations that host it. This action overseas needs to be followed up at home by a sweep of the terrorists living on our own soil, who have taken advantage of the lax law enforcement disguised as compassion by our leading panderers.
Such decisive action by the United States, acting alone or with its allies, should they choose to join us, will break the back of terrorism, its cozy links to the illegal drug and weapons trade, and its diplomatic state sponsors motivated by their hatred of the West. Decisive action now will ensure that we do not have to fight a war on our own soil – and on our enemies' terms – 10 years from now, when the cost would be incalculably greater, which is where the appeasers in our midst are daily taking us. Our parents and grandparents responded decisively when Germany and Japan threatened the liberty handed down to them in their own generation. We have just experienced an outrage a magnitude of order greater than they. Because of their action then, we have remained a free nation until today. Think about how your life today would be different, had they shirked from their duty, let the appeasers prevail and helped Hitler unite Europe under the iron heel of the Gestapo, in service of the government that was to have lasted a thousand years.
Nothing short of the fortitude and determination shown by our parents and grandparents, followed by their uncompromising insistence of total surrender by America's enemies, can suffice for us. This is the price of peace and freedom, and it has been demanded of us today. Tomorrow the cost will only be higher, and the next day higher still. The appeasers in our midst care nothing for freedom – their only goal is the continued flow of money and power into their own pockets. Should we allow them to prevail, they will become prison guards to our patriots, and our freedom and liberty will be only a distant and dwindling memory. I can think of no more fitting words for this point in our history than those uttered by Abraham Lincoln at Gettysburg, when he concluded:
The world will little note, nor long remember, what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us – that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion – that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain – that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom – and that government of the people, by the people, and for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
Now make the telephone calls and write the letters that you know you must, and then plead with God on behalf of this nation and its leaders.
