There must be other options for donations. I'll pass on the Red Cross. I can still remember my Marine Drill Instructor railing against the Red Cross and telling us how they used to charge for donuts and coffee on the battlefield, while others charged nothing. The officer who swore me in, a real American hero who completed 50 missions in WWII, including Ploesti, told me the same thing. Consequently, I have never given the Red Cross a dime. Any other old timers have Red Cross stories?
