Did anyone happen to catch Nightline? The first thing that got me mad was their piece involving Arab-Americans and the grief they've been getting over the last couple of days.

Fine! I understand that there are Americans of Arab origin who have been unfairly treated because of who they are. But I sensed an ulterior motive in the piece.

Then Jim Wooten gets three mintes to inform all of us dummies that are watching that G.W. was WRONG when he said that America was attacked because of it is the greatest example of freedom in the world. Mr. Wooten feels the real reason we were attacked is because of our middle east policy and our support of Israel.

He may be right, he may be wrong...I'm too tired to figure out which one. But I do know that Wooten would never second-guess our previous 'president' on anything. The lack of respect is clearly evident.

Benjamin Netanyahu was on Fox and he said it's the other way around. The Islamic radicals hate Israel, because of the United States. He said that "they were only the little Satan, while the US was the big Satan". Although I do believe our interventionist foreign policy over a long period was a big factor in bringing this about.

There may be a degree of truth in that, but Netanyahu and all of Israel of course has a stake in advancing that view.

Netanyahu is a serious man. He brought up that he'd be accused of exactly what you accuse him of. The Islamic radicals hate the West for the humiliations of the Arab world at the hands of the West for 200 years. They hated the Brits, when they were #1. And that was before the existence of Israel.

I saw that interview, and don't recall him saying he'd be accused of what I "accused" him off, but even if he did, thatv doesn't make it less true. And again, I don't say his point is completely without merit, but it is natural that he would play it up in an interview. And as for the Palestinaians hating the Brits back in the day, didn't the Brits occupy what is now Israel from sometime in the late 19th century until 1948 when Israel was formed? In which case pf course they ahted the Brits, they're fanatical about that strip of sand and would hate anyone who would it deny it to them that much more intensely.

Yes, my blood pressure topped out when Wooten came on with his arrogant statement about Bush's remarks. That is mild compared to Charlie Rose's guests tonight. A full complement of the leftists whose contempt for Bush was less than veiled. Anthony Lewis, Frank Rich and David Halberstrom (sp). Lewis and Rich made snide remarks about Bush's inarticulate address to the nation (scripted). (way too short, according to Rich). I think all three quoted Roosevelt's "Day of Infamy" statement in comparison. This so-called period of coming together is beginning to unravel, led by the media. No. While it is true that our support for Israel is one of the prime reasons so many of them hate us,the biggest reason is because we represent the power and wealth of the "Christian World". This means their hatred is based on jealousy,since a pile of 13th century camel dung represents the power of the "Islamic World".
